Xbox One X Scorpio Edition Pre-Orders Sold Out in Less Than a Day

If you were planning on scoring one of the special edition Xbox One X Scorpio Edition gaming consoles, you may be out of luck.

According to a recent Gamescom 2017 interview by the YouTube channel Rocket Beans, it appears that although the new console was expected to sell well, even Microsoft didn’t expect it to sell this well. During the interview, Microsoft Head of Xbox Marketing Aaron Greenberg revealed that despite the company preparing enough inventory to “last about a week”, the new special edition of the gaming console actually sold out in less than a day with Amazon’s inventory selling out in just twenty five minutes.

Razer Launches Wolverine Ultimate Controller for Xbox One and PC

In a recent announcement, Razer announced their new Wolverine Ultimate gaming controller designed for the Xbox One and PC.

As its name implies, the Razer Wolverine Ultimate is designed to be the ultimate gaming controller featuring two interchangeable D-Pads, interchangeable thumbsticks, and 6 completely re-mappable triggers and buttons (2 buttons, 4 triggers) for the ultimate customizability.

HyperX Announces Cloud Alpha Gaming Headset with Double Chamber Design

For Gamescom 2017 in Cologne, Germany, HyperX announced their new Cloud Alpha gaming headset designed for multi-platform gaming on PC, Xbox One S, PS4, Mac, Mobile, and more.

The HyperX Cloud Alpha features a similar exterior design to the previous HyperX Cloud II gaming headset however, the Cloud Alpha’s biggest new feature is what HyperX calls Dual Chamber Technology. Paired with the 50mm drivers, HyperX separates the chambers for the highs/mids and the lows to create more accurate sound with improved range and tone compared to previous gaming headsets without the dual chamber design.

Minecraft Better Together Beta Now Available

Back at E3 2017, Microsoft announced several updates coming for Minecraft. Among them is the Better Together update, which unifies Windows, Android and Xbox versions of Minecraft into one edition for true cross-platform play.

Today, Microsoft is releasing the beta for the Windows and Android Minecraft players with the Xbox One beta coming in the following days. Microsoft says this is to help stress-test and find any bugs associated with the new update, and the reward for gamers is of course access to cross-platform play and all the new features associated with the update.

Microsoft’s Project Scorpio Detailed: Specs Reveal Major Upgrade Over Xbox One

Gears of War 4 Now Supports Versus Cross-play Between Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs

 

Following the cross-play Test Weekend which took place back in December of last year, The Coalition has announced an update for Gears of War 4 which will make the feature official and likely permanent.

Over the next few months, the developers are instituting a trial period for cross-play versus in which they will closely monitor feedback as well as match and player data to ensure the results they collected during the Test Weekend is actually representative of the overall user experience with cross-play.
