Microsoft recently added Japan to the list of countries that will receive the HoloLens, the company’s esteemed augmented reality headset.
Japan will be receiving both the developer as well as the commercial editions of HoloLens. Microsoft states that one of its biggest partners, Japan Airlines, has already prepared two proof-of-concept programs ready to use with HoloLens. The new programs will focus on providing training to mechanics and would be pilots.
“We continue to be inspired by the work developers and customers are doing with HoloLens across the globe…Japan is no different.”

Tesoro, a well-established gaming peripherals manufacturer, recently demoed an unnamed ultra-low profile mechanical keyboard. Although there’re already plenty of travel-friendly mechanical keyboards that are reduced in length, a reduction of height is necessary to further improve portability.
Tesoro’s new keyboard measures just 12mm thin. Despite it’s ultra-thin chassis, the keystrokes provide the same feedback as regular mechanical switches (albeit with much shorter travel). This is similar to the Azio MK-C keyboard we [...]
Down the hall from Kingston’s CES 2017 suite was HyperX, the gaming and performance components division of Kingston, which now seems to be becoming more independent than ever.
The most impressive showing at the HyperX suite was their upcoming HyperX Predator LED which is an upcoming RGB LED lit high performance memory kit. Unlike other kits on the market, the HyperX Predator LED is able to communicate with the system directly through the memory slots through a proprietary method which is supposed by all the biggest motherboard makers such as ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI. With this, the LEDs on the HyperX Predator LED can be controlled via a software [...]
At CES 2017, AZIO is spicing up the keyboard market with some eccentric keyboard designs.
AZIO Retro 2 Mechanical Keyboard
Say what you want, but Azio’s MK Retro 2 sports the most interesting keyboard designed we’ve seen at CES 2017. The Retro 2 is inspired by the vintage design of the timeless typewriter and sporting the tactile Kailh Blue switches, the keyboard simulates the tactile feel and the sound as well. The Khail Blue switches on the Retro 2 have custom mounts with the LED embedded directly in the center. Though this design does help with lighting distribution, it also means that it’s incompatible [...]
As gaming has become significantly more popular over the past few years, several high end German audiomakers have taken notice including Beyerdynamic, a company which has long been heralded as one of the top companies in high end audio. The first of the two headsets unveiled at CES 2017 is the 2nd Generation Beyerdynamic MMX300. The updated headset features a full metal frame, 45mm drivers, condenser microphone, replaceable earpads, replaceable headband, and a replaceable cable with [...]
At CES 2017, we recently stopped by to speak to our friends at Mushkin to take a quick look at what they’re planning on doing for the upcoming year and so far, it’s looking to be an exciting one. Not only is the memory giant launching a few new storage solutions, it’s also heading into the peripherals market with a great looking keyboard.
Mushkin Helix PCIe SSD
First up is the Mushkin Helix PCIe SSD, which is Mushkin’s first M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. Powered by the Silicon Motion SM2260 in combination with Micron 3D MLC NAND, the Helix has a sequential read speed of 2.5GB/s and a sequential write speed of 1.1GB/s. Random [...]
How can you make a keyboard do more? Connect it to the cloud of course and that’s exactly what Das Keyboard did with their latest keyboard.
According to Das Keyboard, the Das Keyboard 5Q is the world’s first RGB mechanical keyboard that can be connected to the cloud. The Das Keyboard 5Q will support IFTTT (If This, Then That) which will allow users to program the LEDs to reflect updates from social media platforms and cloud apps.
Using Zapier, IFTTT, and many other open APIs, the Das Keyboard 5Q can be connected to a wide array of applications and platforms such as Twitter, stocks, weather and more. During our demo at [...]
These days everything is “cloud” connected. Your speaker is cloud connected, your watch is cloud connected, your lightbulbs are cloud connected, and even your garage door is cloud connected, so why not also own a keyboard that’s cloud connected?
That’s what Das Keyboard is expected to show off at this upcoming CES 2017 with their latest Das Keyboard 5Q which will allow users to stream information directly to the keyboard and be notified of things like emails, stock quotes, sports updates, and more right from the lighting on the keyboard. Have no idea how that would work? Here’s a little demonstration from Das [...]

While Apple’s decision to go exclusive on USB-C ports with their new MacBook Pros may have been due to a desire to deliver the most advanced laptop with the most courageous interfaces possible, it doesn’t change the fact that customers of the new laptop will need to purchase a slew of new adapters in order to use most of their current external devices. Given that Apple’s USB-C adapters can range anywhere from $19 to a whopping $79, many customers have expressed quite a bit of dissatisfaction as adapters alone can significantly add to the cost of the already expensive laptop.
In a rare moment that Apple may have realized they went a [...]
