PNY Unveils Prevail Pro Mobile Workstation at SIGGRAPH 2017

At SIGGRAPH 2017, PNY announced that they’ll soon be jumping into the mobile workstation market with their latest PNY Prevail Pro P3000 and Prevail Pro P4000 mobile workstations.

The new mobile workstations which are just 0.78-inches thin and weigh in at just 4.8Lbs, feature up to a 15.6-inch 4K UHD(3840×2160) display, an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, up to 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM, and Nvidia’s Quadro Mobile P3000 for the Prevail Pro P3000 and the Quadro Mobile P4000 (Max-Q) for the Prevail Pro P4000. Storage options include up to 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSDs and up to a 2TB HDD.

Hands On: Metavision Meta 2 Sub-$1,000 AR Headset

While VR tends to be the hot buzzword these days, another technology, AR or Augmented Reality, is also gaining quite a bit of traction thanks in large part to the publicity from Pokemon Go, Google Glass and also the Microsoft Hololens.

HP Launches Z VR Backpack PC Sporting Nvidia Quadro P5200

Dell announced a massive refresh of its Precision line of workstations at SIGGRAPH 2017, marking the first refresh of the Precision lineup in five years.

Dell Shows Off Epic Canvas 27-inch Pen Display at SIGGRAPH 2017

Microsoft’s Surface Studio is pretty cool. The 28-inch all-in-one desktop that instantly turns into a large canvas for drawing certainly drew a lot of attention when it was revealed last year, but there’s a couple major problems with it. First, you’ll have to fork out at least $3,000 for just the base model and second, you’re locked into the existing hardware with little to no upgrade path within just a few years.

Dell Reveals Precision 5520 Anniversary Edition at Private SIGGRAPH 2017 Event

At a special event at SIGGRAPH 2017, Dell revealed the Precision 5520 mobile workstation, commemorating 20 years of Dell Precision workstations.

Crafted in a beautiful brushed aluminum finish, the Dell Precision 5520 mobile workstation is according to Dell the thinnest and lightest 15-inch mobile workstation on the market. The laptop features a thickness of just 0.66-inches at its thickest point and a weight of just under 4lbs for the fully loaded unit.

AMD Unveils Radeon Pro WX9100 and Pro SSG for 4K and 8K Content Creators

AMD is showing some serious love for content creators at SIGGRAPH 2017 with two major new graphics cards, the Radeon Pro WX 9100 and the Radeon Pro SSG.

Nvidia Announces Titan Xp and Quadro External GPUs

At SIGGRAPH 2017, Nvidia announced that it will be bringing its powerful Titan Xp and Quadro graphics cards into an eGPU solution for gamers, creative professionals and AI researchers.

External graphics docks are becoming increasingly popular due to their convenience and massive graphics performance they bring to laptops and other mobile devices that otherwise would not have the capability.

AMD Reveals Ryzen Threadripper 1950X, 1920X, 1900X Pricing and Availability

During AMD’s SIGGRAPH event, the company finally revealed the full details, lineup and availability of their highly anticipated Ryzen Threadripper CPUs.

AMD will release three products into the Ryzen Threadripper family. At the top of the stack is the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X, which will feature 16-cores/32-threads, a base clock of 3.4GHz, a turbo clock of 4.0GHz + XFR to 4.2GHz, 180w TDP and will retail for $999 starting August 10.
