AVADirect wasn’t really a systems builder on our radar until late last year when we reviewed their Avant Mini Cube Gaming PC. After extensive testing, we found that the system was well configured, well built, and well priced, quickly propelling AVADirect to the top as one of our favorite custom PC builders.
Recently, AVADirect sent us another one of the systems in their lineup, the AVADirect X370 Quiet Gaming PC, which as its name implies is AVADirect’s quiet gaming PC offering based on AMD’s X370 Ryzen platform.AVADirect Quiet Gaming PC Specs Desktop AVADirect X370 Quiet Gaming PC Case Phanteks Eclipse [...]
MSI recently announced the Vortex G25, a small yet powerful gaming PC.
The MSI Vortex G25 is absolutely tiny. It’s slim build is almost reminiscent of a blade server. When stood up vertically, it takes up less space than a gaming console. It’s so compact, in fact, that it can be mounted on a VESA monitor mount. At just 5.51lbs, it won’t rip your monitor apart, either.
The Vortex G25 is outfitted with Intel’s 10th generation “Coffee Lake” CPUs. Users can choose from the Core i7-8700 or the Core i5-8400. Graphics options include either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or a GeForce GTX 1060. All [...]
The AIB (Add-In Board) graphics card market is currently experiencing one of the largest booms ever, according to a recent report by Jon Peddie Research.
Unlike the PC Market, which recently experienced an 18.2% decrease, the AIB graphics card market spiked a phenomenal 30.9% sequentially, and 34.9% year over year. This is the first time the AIB market has grown significantly in nine years, and the biggest jump ever recorded.
This massive jump in numbers were driven by the healthy gaming PC market and new ASIC resitant cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, which has depleted stocks of both AMD and Nvidia graphics cards.
When it boils down to it, one of the most important components of your new gaming PC is the keyboard. Aside from the mouse, the keyboard, and maybe a gaming controller there’s literally nothing else that translates what you want to do to the PC. Unless you invest mind control… or something.
Over the past few years, one of the most popular categories of gaming keyboards have been the mechanical gaming keyboards. Unlike the cheap, soft and mushy rubber dome keyboards, mechanical gaming keyboards offer a better feel, more consistent actuation, better overall performance, and better reliability.
That said, with the increased popularity of [...]
After about a year since we first heard about AMD Vega, AMD has finally announced the new graphics card, marking AMD’s return to the enthusiast graphics market after years of sitting on the sidelines.
AMD’s RX Vega lineup will consist of two new graphics cards, the RX Vega 64 and the RX Vega 56.
AMD Radeon RX Vega 64
The Radeon RX Vega 64 is AMD’s flagship RX Vega graphics card. The 64 in its name signifies the number of next generation compute units in the GPU, which in this case is 64. Multiply this number by 64 Stream Processors per compute unit and you get a total of 4096 Stream Processors.
We’ve all been there. The moment when the new Call of Duty is released and we wait eagerly to download and install it only to find out that it runs at 10 FPS our old gaming system. Or after setting up a brand new “school” PC to find that it performance on CS:GO, TF2, LoL, and Overwatch isn’t exactly what you expected. It happens.
While the ideal thing to do at this point is to buy a completely new gaming PC with the best gaming graphics card and the best CPU, that’s unfortunately not feasible for most people. As such, here’s a list of the best ways to increase the FPS in your games before going out and spending $2,000 for a new gaming [...]

There’s no argument that Alienware’s Area 51 Gaming PC is an excellent platform for AMD’s upcoming Ryzen Threadripper debut, but it seemed odd that AMD would make Alienware the initial exclusive big box retailer to carry the processor yet allow Alienware to not be exclusive to AMD Threadripper in return. Dell’s new Inspiron 5675 Gaming Desktop may explain why.
While the Alienware Area 51 clearly took the spotlight at E3, Dell also more quietly revealed the Inspiron 5675 Gaming Desktop at the booth next door. While the Inspiron 5675 Gaming Desktop isn’t as attention grabbing as the Alienware Area 51, it’s still very [...]
