AVADirect X370 Quiet Gaming PC Review
Quiet and Beautiful
AVADirect wasn’t really a systems builder on our radar until late last year when we reviewed their Avant Mini Cube Gaming PC. After extensive testing, we found that the system was well configured, well built, and well priced, quickly propelling AVADirect to the top as one of our favorite custom PC builders.
Recently, AVADirect sent us another one of the systems in their lineup, the AVADirect X370 Quiet Gaming PC, which as its name implies is AVADirect’s quiet gaming PC offering based on AMD’s X370 Ryzen platform.

3D Mark is Futuremark’s latest benchmark utility used widely by gamers, enthusiasts, and overclockers to benchmark system performance and stability under consistent graphics loads.
The AVADirect X370 Quiet Gaming PC reviewed today features an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, which is a powerful graphics card designed to excel in 1080p gaming. In our testing, the GTX 1060 also did fairly well in 2560×1440 resolution gaming however, did fall short of our preferred 60FPS average. Those who plan to play the latest games at 2560×1440 or higher resolutions are encouraged to upgrade to the GTX 1070 or higher.
PC Mark 8
From the creators as 3D Mark, PC Mark 8 is a full system benchmark designed to test real world system performance. PC Mark 8 is the latest in the PC Mark series, now replacing PC Mark 7.

Samsung 960 EVO 256GB SSD
1TB Seagate ST1000DM010-2EP102 7200RPM HDD
Our sample of the AVADirect X370 Quiet Gaming PC was outfitted with a combination of a Samsung 960 EVO along with a 1TB Segate 7,200RPM HDD. This is a great combination which provides an adequate supply of ultra-fast SSD storage for apps yet provides enough additional HDD storage for larger sized multi-media content. Those who need additional SSD storage for larger games may however want to upgrade the SSD storage capacity.
Here we’ll be testing the maximum power consumption of each of the test systems shown below. Idle power consumption is taken after the system is left idle for a minimum of 5 minutes. For load power consumption numbers, AIDA 64 stress test is run for a minimum of 5 minutes before the final results are taken.
The AVADirect X370 Quiet Gaming PC drew 63w at idle and as much as 302w at full load. The system is quite power efficient at full load however, idle power consumption is a bit higher than we’re used to in the Haswell based system.
For thermal testing, we utilized AIDA 64’s system stability test which generates a constant artificial load on the CPU, GPU and local disks to test for any possible overheating. In the event of overheating, the utility also allows us to find out when the system begins to throttle.
In stress testing, the AVADirect X370 Quiet Gaming PC ran relatively cool. This is as expected considering the sheer number of case fans along with the Noctua NH-D15S+ CPU cooler and the cool running GTX 1060.
Case acoustics is measured using an Extech sound level meter at 2 feet away. For reference ambient noise is measured as well.
Although the focus of the AVADirect X370 Quiet Gaming PC is silence, it still packs a lot of fans to keep everything quiet. Due to the sheer number of fans along with a case that’s a mixture of quiet and flashy, the AVADirect X370 Quiet Gaming PC isn’t as silent as its name might imply however, it’s by no means loud.
Once again, AVADirect has sent us an excellent system that’s well-built, well-configured and well priced. By offering the AMD Ryzen option, this allows gamers to configure a powerful hexa-core system and still pair it with 16GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB at a reasonable price, which will give gamers excellent performance when gaming at the highest settings at 1080p or medium to high settings at 1440p without breaking the $2,000 pricepoint. Those with budget to spare and enjoy playing games at 2560×1440 or higher resolutions at maximum quality settings however, are encouraged to upgrade to a GTX 1070 or higher graphics solution.
Once again AVADirect’s commitment to excellent build quality is very apparent as the features of the case is used properly, the components are secured properly, and our system reviewed today featured full red custom sleeving which provides a clean look throughout the system as well as plenty of room for unobstructed airflow.
The AVADirect X370 Quiet Gaming PC as reviewed today is priced at just under $1,900 which includes a 3 year parts and labor warranty as well as lifetime technical support. This isn’t going to be as well priced as buying all the parts individually and assembling the system yourself however, it’s not expensive either, and for those who prefer to have a working system configured, built and delivered to their door will find that AVADirect offers a very good value proposition. Recommended!
