Late last year, we put together a $1,200 custom gaming PC build which was very popular among the readers, but with new hardware releases over the past few months, we decided to once again put together a new build with the latest components. Our goal for this month’s build is once again put together a system with the greatest amount of performance for running all the latest games at mid to high settings at 1080P, 1440P, or 1600P without compromising style or going overbudget.

One of the most popular builds on our site is the gaming workstation, a hybrid build that’s both great at games yet also is able to pull double duty for workstation activities such as video editing, photoshopping, and even 3D modeling. This makes sense as computers are so versatile that it only makes sense to have a single PC that’s capable of not only playing games, but for doing work as well.

Ever since we started the site several years ago, gaming computer builds have always ranked as one of the most popular article requests we get. It’s been quite a while since our last gaming PC build here at Custom PC Review, but computer hardware hasn’t really changed all that much in the past couple months with most of the industry waiting on the holiday season to make their big releases. The original plan for December of 2013 was to update the $1,000 Gaming PC Build that really hasn’t been updated since December of 2012. Unfortunately as I started working on the build article late last year, I wasn’t too happy with a lot of components that I had to make compromises in, in order to fit the budget.
