Razer’s Project Linda Turns Your Razer Phone into a Laptop PC

Razer is demoing its newest concept design, Project Linda, at CES 2018. Razer’s project Linda aims to leverage the power of the Razer Phone and instantly transforms it into an Android based laptop PC. The concept is similar to the Windows Dock or the Samsung DeX Station, but rather than dock to a desktop PC, Project Linda seamlessly docks the phone right into the laptop.

The way it works is that the Razer Phone docks in face-up position where the touchpad would normally be found. This allows the phone to be used as the touchpad and the phone’s forward facing onboard speakers serve as speakers for the system as well. Having the phone in a face-up [...]

Razer Reveals Razer Phone Packing 120Hz 2K Display, Snapdragon 835, 8GB RAM

When Razer acquired Nextbit in January this year, we had a feeling that they would put that acquisition to good use combining Nextbit’s smartphone engineering know-how with Razer’s own gamer twist. After just less than a year in the making, Razer unveiled their latest smartphone which may be the first decent smartphone ever produced specifically for gaming and content consumption.

The new smartphone, which Razer calls the Razer Phone, looks very similar to the Nextbit Robin, which was Nextbit’s flagship smartphone before the company was acquired by Razer. From there, Razer has made some serious enhancements to the product to make it one of the [...]

Hands On: Metavision Meta 2 Sub-$1,000 AR Headset

While VR tends to be the hot buzzword these days, another technology, AR or Augmented Reality, is also gaining quite a bit of traction thanks in large part to the publicity from Pokemon Go, Google Glass and also the Microsoft Hololens.

At SIGGRAPH 2017, we had a chance to hang out with Metavision, a Silicon Valley startup, to check out their new Meta 2 AR headset, which could very well be the best AR headset currently available on the market.

Razer Announces Tiamat 7.1 V2 and Tiamat 2.2 V2 Gaming Headsets

Razer’s Tiamat 7.1 and Tiamat 2.2 gaming headsets have been upgraded to version two, and boy is there a lot of changes.

We can all agree that surround sound is great. While virtual surround sound brings acceptable positional audio, having real dedicated drivers for separate sound channels is simply superior. The Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2 now features 10-you read that right-10 discrete audio drivers (five per earcup). Each earcup contains a 40mm subwoofer, 30mm front and 20mm rear and side surround sound drivers.

Nixeus NX-EDG27 Review

Best in Class

Several years ago, Nixeus made a huge splash into the gaming monitor market with their Nixeus NX-VUE24, a relatively inexpensive 24-inch, 1080p monitor that was one of the first monitors to feature a 30Hz-144Hz FreeSync range. The monitor did use a TN panel, so color accuracy and viewing angles weren’t as good as its VA or IPS panel competitors, but the 30Hz-144Hz FreeSync range was glorious compared to the 40Hz-144Hz or 50Hz-144Hz competitors on the market.

Earlier this year at CES 2017, Nixeus was back at it again, this time around with a the new Nixeus NX-EDG27, a 27-inch gaming monitor featuring a 1440p resolution, AHVA (IPS) display technology, [...]

Acer Launches Predator Z35P Gaming Monitor: 35-inch, 3440×1440, AMVA, G-Sync

For those who enjoy the experience of massive gaming monitors, Acer is quietly launching an updated version of the Predator Z35, the Predator Z35P.

The Acer Predator Z35 is one of the most impressive monitors on the market featuring 35-inches of screen real estate, Nvidia G-Sync support, and a refresh rate of up to 200Hz; however, with a lowly resolution of just 2560×1080, it’s a bit low for 2017.

Given that the resolution is clearly lacking, Acer’s new Predator Z35P remedies this issue by equipping the monitor with a new 35-inch AMVA+ 1800R curved panel featuring a native resolution of up to 3560×1440 (21:9 aspect ratio), 2500:1 [...]
