Microsoft Begins Shipping HoloLens to Japan

Microsoft recently added Japan to the list of countries that will receive the HoloLens, the company’s esteemed augmented reality headset.

Japan will be receiving both the developer as well as the commercial editions of HoloLens. Microsoft states that one of its biggest partners, Japan Airlines, has already prepared two proof-of-concept programs ready to use with HoloLens. The new programs will focus on providing training to mechanics and would be pilots.

Chinese Company to Buy 55.7% Stake in Newegg for $263 Million

According to a recent article from United Daily News, California based online electronics retailer Newegg is in the process of being acquired by Hangzhao Liaison Interactive Information Technology Co., Ltd. for 1.77 Billion Yuan, or $263 Million USD. This massive investment would essentially give Liaison Interactive a 55.7% share of Newegg. As such Hangzhao Liaison Interactive would receive controlling interest in Newegg, and Newegg would become a subsidiary of Hangzhao Liaison Interactive.

Microsoft Expands HoloLens Augmented Reality Glasses to Six New Countries

In the up and coming world of VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality), one of the most interesting products is Microsoft’s HoloLens, Microsoft’s AR headset designed to utilize Windows Holographic platform in Windows 10.

WD Demos SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO SDXC Card Prototype

Western Digital recently announced that they’re now demoing the new 1TB SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC memory card prototype at the Photokina show now happening in Cologne, Germany.

ASUS Launches GeForce GTX 1070 DUAL

ASUS has revealed an all-new card in its lineup, the  GeForce GTX 1070 DUAL, which features a completely white and black design which is perfectly suited to match their X99A series of motherboards.

The GTX 170 DUAL features a factory overclock of 1582 MHz on the base clock and 1771 MHz on the boost clock. The cooler features a dual fan-design, compared to larger triple fan solution found on the STRIX series. The card features a single 8-pin power connector like the GTX 1070 reference board, however, it does appear to feature a non-reference PCB design with more power phases than the reference board.

AMD Fury X2 Dual Fiji GPU Confirmed To Be Powering Demo at VRLA

NVIDIA Announces VR-Ready Certification Program

Today, computer graphics giant NVIDIA has unveiled a brand new initiative for help alleviate some of the confusion around VR gaming. The company has partnered with PC and notebook makers as well as add-in board manufacturers, for what they call their “GeForce GTX VR-Ready” certification program.

The biggest thing at E3 2015 was easily VR (Virtual Reality), where seemingly almost everyone on the show floor demo’ed some sort of new hardware or new software.
