AMD Vega 3D Mark FireStrike Benchmark Results Leaked in 3D Mark Database

Following the leak of 3D Mark Time Spy benchmark scores for AMD’s upcoming Vega graphics card last week, some new 3D Mark FireStrike benchmark scores may have recently been revealed on 3D Mark’s benchmark database as well.

Before we jump into the results, let’s take a quick look at the specifications. While the card is still unnamed on the database at this time, we can see that it’s an AMD graphics card with a core clock of 1,200MHz, memory bus clock of 700MHz, and 8GB of graphics memory. This is in line with what we’re expecting for AMD’s Vega graphics card. It also features a device ID of 687F:C1, [...]

ASUS STRIX Radeon RX 570 4GB Review

Polaris Enhanced?

A few weeks ago, AMD launched the Radeon RX 500 series, which is mostly a refresh of the previous-generation RX 400 series they launched less than a year ago. Mostly because the Radeon RX 500 series is based on the very same Polaris architecture as its predecessor, albeit on a slightly more mature process. Whatever your stance on rebadges, it’s clear that AMD has decided to double-down on its Polaris architecture in 2017, at least for the midrange and entry-level segments until its RX Vega GPUs appear later on to cover the high-end market. So like it are not, Polaris is here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Today, we’re going to take a [...]

AMD Launches Radeon RX 500 Series Graphics Cards

Today, AMD launched their refreshed, Radeon RX 500 series graphics which focus on the mid-range, and entry-level gaming markets. These new cards are based on the same Polaris architecture as the previously released Radeon RX 400 series of GPUs, albeit with a few notable enhancements. These new GPUS will go head-to-head with NVIDIA’s GeForce 10 series, specifically the GTX 1060 6GB and 3GB, and the GTX 1050 and GTX 10580 Ti. If you were hoping for some competition on the higher-end from AMD, you’ll have to keep waiting for their upcoming RX Vega GPUs who’s availability is still currently unknown, but AMD assures us Vega is “just around the [...]

New leaks have surfaced regarding several of AMD’s upcoming RX 500 series graphics cards. According to the latest information, there are expected to be three SKUs in the lineup: the Radeon RX 580, the Radeon RX 570, and the Radeon RX 550.

The Radeon RX 580 is likely a rebrand of the Radeon RX 480 with additional power improvements. Like the RX 480, the RX 580 will use a Polaris 10 GPU clocked at 1,340MHz paired with either 4GB or 8GB of GDDR5 memory. The card is expected to feature 2,304 SMPs, 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The leaked 3DMark Firestrike bench shows that the GPU is running at 1,500MHz, a higher frequency than the RX 480.

XFX Radeon RX 460 Slim 4GB Review

Tiny Graphics Card for the Casual Gamer

Gaming hardware has traditionally held a reputation for being bulky and intimidating. Gaming PCs are often visualized as huge towers decked out with flashy lights and sports car inspired paint jobs. While that would’ve been accurate just a few years ago, performance PCs are no longer confined to just “big”. Thanks to ever increasing tiny hardware that pack a serious punch, SFF, or Small Form-Factor, gaming systems are significantly growing in popularity.

Today we’ll be reviewing one tiny, budget-focused graphics card that can fit almost anywhere yet provide decent gaming performance for the casual gamer, [...]

PowerColor Radeon RX 470 Red Devil 4GB Review

The Devil is in the details…

When AMD released the Radeon RX 470 in August of last year, high demand coupled with low supply meant that it almost didn’t make much sense thanks to its inflated pricing at the time. However, in the months since, pricing has dropped quite a bit and with recent driver updates, the performance of the Radeon RX 470  has significantly improved in performance as well. Is the RX 470 worth considering for someone looking for a sub-$200 1080p gaming graphics card?

Today, we’re going to see about answering that question as we look at the PowerColor Radeon RX 470 Red Devil 4GB, which is one of the more premium and fully-loaded RX [...]

AMD Polaris 10 Die Shot Confirms Radeon RX 480 Utilizes the Full GPU

For those of you still holding out for an even higher end AMD graphics card based on AMD’s new Polaris 10 GPU, I’m sorry to say but this unfortunately isn’t likely.

Photos from a Flickr page belonging to Flickr user “Fritzchens Fritz” recently surfaced on the AMD subreddit with highly detailed images of AMD’s Polaris 10 GPU die. On the images, it appears that there’s just 36 GCN Compute Units in total, each of which feature 64 stream processors. Since the AMD Radeon RX480 features 36 GCN Compute Units and 2,304 stream processors, this means that it already takes advantage of the full Polaris 10 GPU and a higher end single [...]
