Razer Releases Updated Blade Stealth Laptop And Razer Core V2 Graphics Dock

Razer refreshed its Blade Stealth laptop with Intel’s 8th Gen quad-core mobile processors, bringing more performance while retaining battery life.

The Razer Blade Stealth laptop now uses Intel’s Core i7-8550U quad-core mobile CPU. Despite being a quad-core part, the i7-8550U has the same TDP as the previous generation dual-core mobile CPUs. This enables it to be fitted into thinner devices all the while doubling the thread count. Users can expect vastly improved multi-threaded and multi-tasking performance with excellent battery life.

Other aspects of the hardware remain unchanged. The Razer Blade Stealth still features a 13.3″ QHD IGZO [...]

Nixeus NX-EDG27 Review

Best in Class

Several years ago, Nixeus made a huge splash into the gaming monitor market with their Nixeus NX-VUE24, a relatively inexpensive 24-inch, 1080p monitor that was one of the first monitors to feature a 30Hz-144Hz FreeSync range. The monitor did use a TN panel, so color accuracy and viewing angles weren’t as good as its VA or IPS panel competitors, but the 30Hz-144Hz FreeSync range was glorious compared to the 40Hz-144Hz or 50Hz-144Hz competitors on the market.

Earlier this year at CES 2017, Nixeus was back at it again, this time around with a the new Nixeus NX-EDG27, a 27-inch gaming monitor featuring a 1440p resolution, AHVA (IPS) display technology, a [...]

IPS vs TN vs VA vs OLED vs Quantum Dot Explained

For most people, buying a new monitor is typically only about the resolution and size of the display. Ever heard of somebody say they just got a 24-inch 1080p monitor? Or someone who said they got a 4K 27-inch monitor? Sure. In fact, most of us have probably done that ourselves, but while the size and resolution of a display is important, what’s equally if not more important is the display technology behind it, which will tell us more about the color accuracy, latency, viewing angles, and more.

LCD

LCD, or Liquid Crystal Displays, first became popular when CRT, or Cathode Ray Tube, monitors became mostly obsolete in last decade. Unlike CRTs which [...]

Best PC Monitors [October 2016]: Samsung, LG, Viewsonic, Acer, and More!

Several years ago, picking out a monitor was relatively easy. Those who needed high end monitors generally purchased an IPS, MVA, or PLS panel while those who didn’t need a high end monitor purchased a TN panel. That was it. There was no curved display, no FreeSync, and no affordable IPS panel either.

After my colleague Tom Li published his 6 Reasons Why Your Next Upgrade Should Be a Second Monitor article, I figured I’d do some research and present you with some of the best monitors available on the market today. In this buying guide, I tried to make recommendations for some of the most common segments, but as there’s so many different monitors out [...]
