MSI Releases Small Form Factor Vortex G25 Gaming Desktop

MSI recently announced the Vortex G25, a small yet powerful gaming PC.

The MSI Vortex G25 is absolutely tiny. It’s slim build is almost reminiscent of a blade server. When stood up vertically, it takes up less space than a gaming console. It’s so compact, in fact, that it can be mounted on a VESA monitor mount. At just 5.51lbs, it won’t rip your monitor apart, either.

AMD Scores Major Win in Dell Inspiron 5675 Gaming Desktop at E3 2017

There’s no argument that Alienware’s Area 51 Gaming PC is an excellent platform for AMD’s upcoming Ryzen Threadripper debut, but it seemed odd that AMD would make Alienware the initial exclusive big box retailer to carry the processor yet allow Alienware to not be exclusive to AMD Threadripper in return. Dell’s new Inspiron 5675 Gaming Desktop may explain why.

While the Alienware Area 51 clearly took the spotlight at E3, Dell also more quietly revealed the Inspiron 5675 Gaming Desktop at the booth next door. While the Inspiron 5675 Gaming Desktop isn’t as attention grabbing as the Alienware Area 51, it’s still very [...]

CES 2016: Maingear Shows Off Alpha 34 Performance AIO with Curved Display

Maingear seems to be after our hearts by  releasing quite possibly the most powerful AIO to ever hit the market. The Maingear Alpha 34 comes with a 34 inch ultra wide curved 3840×1440 screen, a liquid cooled Intel Core i7 -5960X or 18 core Xeon, the choice between a Nvidia GeForce 980 TI, Titan X, or AMD Radeon R9 390X along with 32GB of Kingston DDR4 and a Samsung 950 Pro M.2 NVME SSD.

While this may seem completely overkill for most people looking in the AIO market, it’s highly suitable for for a compact, powerful workstation or gaming rig. The beefy GPU is a necessity to process 3D intensive tasks at such a high resolution.

The best thing [...]

Review: iBUYPOWER SpecOps Stream Machine

iBUYPOWER SpecOps Program Project #1

Back at CES earlier this year, I was fortunate enough to meet a couple guys from the iBUYPOWER team who were very excited to talk to us about their new SpecOps Program, a new initiative started by their R&D and marketing staff to help customers choose optimal system configurations for specific use cases. If anyone has ever purchased a system from a boutique vendor like iBUYPOWER, you’ll know that you don’t get much guidance in terms of parts selection. You simply go into the system configurator, do your research, and choose your own parts. The SpecOps Program however, helps guide customers through this process in a transparent [...]

CES 2015: Syber Vapor SLIM Prototype, Vapor Stream Prototype

Several weeks ago, we had the opportunity to review the Syber Vapor Xtreme, a new PC gaming console from CyberPowerPC’s newest sub-brand, Syber. Since we were fairly impressed with what Syber had done with their first PC gaming console, we stopped by their suite at CES 2015 to take a look at what’s coming next.

While Syber didn’t have too much to show us just yet, they did have a couple products under development that looked quite promising.

First up is the Syber Vapor SLIM, which is still very much a prototype at this time. As you’d expect from the name, the Syber Vapor SLIM carries most of the features of the original Syber [...]

CES 2015: CyberPowerPC Fang Trinity, Zeus Mini II

CyberPowerPC is kicking off CES with a bang, and for 2015 they’re unveiling a brand new concept system they’re calling the CyberPowerPC Fang Trinity.

What’s unique about the Fang Trinity is the futuristic chassis which looks a bit like an alien spaceship. For those wondering how the chassis works, the chassis compartmentalized into a total of three compartments with each of the three compartments enclosed by a thick steel cover. The top compartment holds the GPU and three 2.5″ drives, the bottom left compartment holds the power supply, a slimline optical drive, a 3.5″ HDD, and a 2.5″ drive, and the bottom right compartment holds a [...]

Review: Syber Vapor Xtreme Gaming PC Console

[section label=1. Introduction] The Rise of the PC Gaming Console

Way back at CES 2014, Valve made a huge splash at the show announcing their intent to popularize PC gaming in the living room. In order to do this, Valve was building a custom Steam OS which would either be installed by an end user to their own gaming PC, or be bundled with Steam Machines – Valve approved gaming PCs manufactured by their PC OEM partners.

While Valve and their PC OEM partners created a lot of hype during the show, the Steam Machine concept has pretty much fizzled out in the past year as Steam have made no big announcements regarding the status of their Steam OS or Steam Machines. With PC [...]

Nvidia Game24: Nvidia Launches GeForce GTX 980, GTX 970 Maxwell GPUs

Last Thursday, we were lucky enough to be invited to attend Nvidia’s first ever Game24 event, a 24 hour event dedicated to the celebration of PC gaming. While Nvidia made the event sound like a typical gaming event, we knew something big was up. Over the past several weeks, we’ve seen numerous rumors online pointing to two upcoming second generation Maxwell based graphics cards, the GeForce GTX 970 and GTX 980, and an event like Game24 would be the perfect stage to unveil the highly anticipated cards.

As the event began, the first order of business was a powerful keynote by Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang where he revealed… you guessed it. [...]

CyberPowerPC Zeus Mini-I 780 Review

Big Performance, Not-so-Big Package

It’s really no secret that I love building my own PCs and it’s quite rare that you’d see me buy a pre-fab desktop. For me, there’s simply no value add in ordering a custom PC built with off the shelf parts I can easily put together myself. However, there are some system builders who’ve found ways to provide value add for enthusiasts such as myself by developing stuff like exclusive components or enhanced warranties that are far superior in comparison to the ones offered by PC component manufacturers.

Today we’ll be reviewing the CyberPowerPC Zeus Mini-I 780, which is a brand new system from CyberPowerPC [...]
