Linksys Announces WRT32X Gaming Router with Killer QoS

 

Coinciding with Gamescom 2017, Linksys recently launched a new flagship consumer gaming router, the Linksys WRT32X.

The Linksys WRT32X is a 802.11ac router based on the WRT3200 platform, but what’s special about it is that it utilizes the Killer Networking Prioritization Engine to ensure that gaming traffic get top priority and are transferred as quickly as possible. According to Linksys, it could potentially shave off 77% in-game latency and the prioritization engine will also intelligently manage traffic when there’s no gaming activity to ensure smooth web browsing experience for all connected devices.

Xbox One X Scorpio Edition Pre-Orders Sold Out in Less Than a Day

If you were planning on scoring one of the special edition Xbox One X Scorpio Edition gaming consoles, you may be out of luck.

According to a recent Gamescom 2017 interview by the YouTube channel Rocket Beans, it appears that although the new console was expected to sell well, even Microsoft didn’t expect it to sell this well. During the interview, Microsoft Head of Xbox Marketing Aaron Greenberg revealed that despite the company preparing enough inventory to “last about a week”, the new special edition of the gaming console actually sold out in less than a day with Amazon’s inventory selling out in just twenty five minutes.

HyperX Announces Cloud Alpha Gaming Headset with Double Chamber Design

For Gamescom 2017 in Cologne, Germany, HyperX announced their new Cloud Alpha gaming headset designed for multi-platform gaming on PC, Xbox One S, PS4, Mac, Mobile, and more.

The HyperX Cloud Alpha features a similar exterior design to the previous HyperX Cloud II gaming headset however, the Cloud Alpha’s biggest new feature is what HyperX calls Dual Chamber Technology. Sennheiser Launches GSP 300 Gaming Headset, First in Sennheiser’s New Gaming Design Lineup

Professional audio vendor Sennheiser recently announced the launch of the new GSP 300 gaming headset at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, making it the first headset in Sennheiser’s new gaming design range of gaming headsets.

Battlefield 1 Open Beta Confirmed Starting August 31

Remember how the Battlefield 1 open beta was originally rumored to begin shortly after GamesCom? Well, it seems the rumors have panned out as expected. A recent post on the Battlefield blog confirms that the Battlefield 1 Open Beta will begin on August 31 for PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. Battlefield Insider members will get early access and if you’re not a member, be sure to sign up by August 21 to be one of the first to play the open beta!

Rumor: NVIDIA Pascal based GeForce Mobile GPUs to be announced at Gamescom

In a recent article by Digitimes, it has been reported that NVIDIA may be announcing their lineup of mobile GPUs based on their all-new Pascal architecture at this year’s Gamescom in Germany on August 17th-21st.

Battlefield 1 Beta Starting “Shortly” After GamesCom

With the Battlefield 1 Alpha now in progress, Battlefield fans are eagerly awaiting the beta to be one of the first to play the new game. Unfortunately, no information about when beta testing could be launched until now.

In a German Twitch Q/A session with a Battlefield 1 Community Manager, he hinted that the Battlefield 1 Beta is expected to start shortly after GamesCom. Nvidia Rumored to Launch Pascal Titan at Gamescom

Nvidia has recently been rumored to be launching their upcoming Pascal based Titan at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany coming up in August 17-21.

Based on the GP100 GPU currently deployed in Nvidia’s Tesla P100 based PCIe accelerators designed for deep learning applications, the GP100 is expected to be at least 50% faster than Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080’s GP104 GPU. The upcoming Pascal based Titan is expected to come in two flavors, 16GB and 12GB, both of which will feature HBM2 memory. Skylake-S CPUs Leaked on Ebay Ahead of Launch

Two of Intel’s upcoming Skylake-S desktop processors have been put up for sale on Ebay Australia two days before their official launch which is expected at Gamescom.

The 14 nm based Skylake Intel Core i7-6700K and the Intel Core i5-6600K can now be purchased from unofficial Australian Ebay retailers for $649.99 AUD and $469.99 AUD. Because it’s made purchasable before launch, it’s possible that the prices of the chips are inflated and will change after the official release.

Upcoming Intel Skylake CPU Benchmarks Leaked in Early Review

For all of those looking forward to reading all the wonderful reviews of the upcoming Intel Core i7-6700 flagship processor aka Skylake, the wait is still on, but one Chinese tech website, TechBang, published a host of benchmarks on the upcoming CPU way ahead of its supposed launch. While the review has now been pulled, it wasn’t until after practically everyone had an opportunity to take their obligatory screenshots.

The screenshot above of CPU-Z and GPU-Z provides some insight on the specifications of the Intel Core i7-6700 including the onboard graphics. As expected, the Intel Core i7-6700 has four cores, eight threads, and 8MB of L3 cache. [...]
