Razer Basilisk Review

FPS Gaming Mouse

First Person Shooter, or FPS, games are one of the most common gaming genres out there, but when it comes to gaming mice designed specifically for the genre, there is surprisingly very few out there. Of course, if you ask any professional FPS gamer, it’s easy to understand why. As FPS gaming relies almost solely on the quality of the main switches along with the accuracy of the sensor, FPS gamers typically select simple mice with quality switches and ultra-accurate sensors making gaming mice such as the Zowie EC2, Razer DeathAdder Elite, Logitech G Pro, or SteelSeries Rival 300 some of the most popular gaming mice for FPS gamers.

Of course, [...]

Eero Review (2nd Gen, 2017)

The Next Generation

When Eero launched last year, it helped drive a revolutionary shift in the WiFi router market. Unlike the traditional WiFi router which was complicated to configure and manage for the average user, Eero wanted to create something that was easy to setup, easy to manage and could provide reliable whole home WiFi coverage no matter the size of the home. For the most part, Eero achieved its goal.

Now that it’s a bit more than year later, Eero has revealed the 2nd Generation Eero. Rather than a major redesign, the 2nd Generation Eero focuses on improving on the first generation product while simultaneously launching lower powered wall mounted [...]

Samsung T5 2TB Review

64-Layer 3D NAND, USB 3.1 Gen 2

Last year I was fortunate enough to be among the first to review the Samsung T3 Portable SSD. The drive was small, durable, fast, available in capacities up to 2TB, and relatively good looking making it not only my favorite portable SSD, but also my most highly recommended as well.

Of course, with Samsung’s annual release cycles, Samsung recently launched the new Samsung T5 Portable SSD which we’ll be reviewing today.

Razer Lancehead Review

Razer’s Flagship Wireless Gaming Mouse

Several weeks ago, we were able to get our hands on Razer’s new wired ambidextrous eSports grade gaming mouse, the Razer Lancehead Tournament Edition, which we were quite impressed with. While a portion of the advertised features weren’t available at the time of the review (Synapse 3 is required for the Hybrid On-Board functionality), the Razer Lancehead TE still proved to be a fantastic gaming mouse with a flawless sensor, an excellent design and a reasonable price point.

Along with the Lancehead TE, Razer also launched the Razer Lancehead, which we’ll be reviewing today. The main difference between [...]

The Best Torrent Clients of 2017

Torrents have gotten a bad rap over the years as a platform for sharing illegal movies, music, TV shows, and software, but they have quite a few legitimate uses as well. For example individual developers, content creators and non-profit organizations can simply set up a Torrent, share it with a couple people and let it self propagate, significantly reducing the cost overhead of purchasing file hosting or content delivery.

However, unlike traditional file delivery methods such as through HTTP/HTTPS or through FTP, in order to download a Torrent file, a Torrent client is needed and of course not all Torrent clients are created equal. As such, today we’ll be [...]

HyperX Alloy Elite Review

Going Elite

Not long ago, we tested the HyperX Alloy FPS gaming keyboard, which was the first mechanical gaming keyboard to be offered by Kingston’s HyperX brand. Rather than stack up with features galore, the HyperX Alloy FPS was a rather strategic product, catering towards mainstream and eSports gamers who simply want a solid performing mechanical gaming keyboard they can take on the go at a reasonable price. For the most part, they succeeded.

Now back for round two is the HyperX Alloy FPS’s bigger, badder cousin, the HyperX Alloy Elite Mechanical Gaming Keyboard which we have for review today. While the HyperX Alloy FPS catered towards the mainstream gaming [...]

Patriot Viper V770 Review

Introduction

Although Patriot Memory is most well known for its memory kits, Patriot has become quite the major player in the gaming peripheral business in the past few years.

At CES 2017 earlier this year, we were first introduced to the Patriot Viper V770 mechanical gaming keyboard, which would be Patriot’s flagship mechanical gaming keyboard of 2017. At the show, the Patriot Viper V770 showed quite a bit of promise as a solid premium mechanical gaming keyboard with features such as RGB backlit Kailh Red Switches, a ton of built-in features, dedicated macros, and a LED wristrest.

Over the past few months, we’ve had the opportunity to review [...]
