For the most part when gaming there are just two senses that matter – sight and sound. This is why having a top quality headset is one of the most important elements to winning on the virtual battlefield. Traditionally, gaming headsets have always been manufactured by gaming peripherals companies that make headsets that are either average or below average quality, but with the dearth of options from premium audiomakers, until recently there really wasn’t much of a choice.
Several years back, renowned German audio products maker Sennheiser jumped into the gaming headset market and saw such success that they now have several models of [...]
At the beginning of this year, gaming hardware company Razer made a surprising move when they acquired struggling smartphone company Nextbit Systems, a company best known for their affordable cloud based smartphone, the Nextbit Robin. At the time, Razer kept quiet on what they had planned to do with the acquisition, but given Razer’s heritage, it was almost certain that they would somehow end up creating some sort of smartphone for gamers.
If you’ve visited Razer’s website lately, it appears that that’s exactly what Razer is about to do. On the website, you may have seen an interesting picture which shows a man holding what appears to be a [...]

Kingston Technology’s HyperX brand today announced the availability of its HyperX Cloud Alpha gaming headset.
The new HyperX Cloud Alpha continues the lineage of the immensely popular HyperX Cloud series of gaming headsets with a proprietary new technology which HyperX believes will help significantly improve audio quality.
Though Cloud Alpha uses the same 50mm neodymium drivers as the Cloud II, HyperX has taken steps to produce a more balanced audio playback by adding in a second chamber in the earcup. Dubbed the HyperX Dual Chamber technology, the second chamber allows the bass to be tuned separately from the highs and mids, preventing it [...]
Popular Windows optimization utility CCleaner has a serious problem right now as a recent blog post by their VP of Products, Paul Yung reveals that hackers have compromised recent versions of CCleaner, installing a backdoor utility into the application that would allow hackers to remotely access systems with CCleaner installed.
The security issue which was discovered on September 12, affected the 32-bit version of CCleaner version 5.33.6162 and CCleaner Cloud version 1.07.3191. Hackers were able to illegally modify the application before it was released and was able to introduce the malicious code. The malicious code not only granted attackers remote access to [...]
Raja Koduri, head of AMD’s Radeon Technology Group (RTG), has recently revealed that he will be going on a sabbatical starting September 25 until December.
According to a recent article at PC Perspective, employees of RTG received the following email:
You haven’t heard from me collectively in a while – a symptom not only of the whirlwind of launching Vega, but simply of the huge number of demands on my time since the formation of RTG. Looking back over this short period, it is an impressive view. We have delivered 6 straight quarters of double-digit growth in graphics, culminating in the launch of Vega and being back in [...]

The HyperX Cloud Alpha features a similar exterior design to the previous HyperX Cloud II gaming headset however, the Cloud Alpha’s biggest new feature is what HyperX calls Dual Chamber Technology. Several weeks ago, we were able to get our hands on Razer’s new wired ambidextrous eSports grade gaming mouse, the Razer Lancehead Tournament Edition, which we were quite impressed with. While a portion of the advertised features weren’t available at the time of the review (Synapse 3 is required for the Hybrid On-Board functionality), the Razer Lancehead TE still proved to be a fantastic gaming mouse with a flawless sensor, an excellent design and a reasonable price point.
Along with the Lancehead TE, Razer also launched the Razer Lancehead, which we’ll be reviewing today. The main difference between [...]
