Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro S RGB Review

Simple, Portable, Durable

Over the years, Cooler Master has grown up quite a bit with their mechanical keyboard designs. Unlike many of the designs of the past, Cooler Master’s new keyboards now focus on a more of the back to basics design approach with minimal frills, but all the functionality you’d want in a mechanical keyboard.

The Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro S is the embodiment of that new design philosophy. Aside from the logo, Cooler Master keyboards appear to have few differentiating factors against its competitors, but as the platitude goes, never judge a keyboard by its cover.

Today we’ll be reviewing one of Cooler Master’s [...]

Dell Shows Precision 5820, 7820 and 7920 Workstations at SIGGRAPH 2017

Dell announced a massive refresh of its Precision line of workstations at SIGGRAPH 2017, marking the first refresh of the Precision lineup in five years.

Since it’s the 20 year anniversary for Dell’s workstation business, it’s only fitting to talk about Dell’s first workstation and to see how far they’ve come in the 20 years. Dell’s first workstation was the WorkStation 400, which came in a beige box packed with either one or two Intel Penium II processors running at either 266 MHz, 300 MHz or 333 MHz. The system took as much as 512 MB of RAM and ran Windows NT. In 1997, this was absolutely cutting edge [...]

The Best Gaming Keyboards of 2017

When it boils down to it, one of the most important components of your new gaming PC is the keyboard. Aside from the mouse, the keyboard, and maybe a gaming controller there’s literally nothing else that translates what you want to do to the PC. Unless you invest mind control… or something.

Over the past few years, one of the most popular categories of gaming keyboards have been the mechanical gaming keyboards. Unlike the cheap, soft and mushy rubber dome keyboards, mechanical gaming keyboards offer a better feel, more consistent actuation, better overall performance, and better reliability.

That said, with the increased popularity of mechanical [...]

Cherry MX Board Silent Review

MX Silent Black

Most of us know Cherry as the company that set the gold standard for mechanical keyboard switches, but what very few know know is that Cherry also produces its own line of keyboards.

With the recent release of its Cherry MX Silent lineup of mechanical switches, Cherry took the opportunity to release a new keyboard based around the Cherry MX Silent switches to show them off.

As such, today we’ll be reviewing the Cherry MX Board Silent, a quiet typing mechanical keyboard equipped with Cherry’s latest Cherry MX silent switches paired with a classic, no frills, simple keyboard design. I’ve been waiting to get my hands on one for a long [...]

Cougar Displays New Gaming Keyboards at E3 2017

We had the pleasure of hanging out with gaming peripherals maker Cougar recently at E3 2017 to check out some of their latest and greatest gaming keyboards.

Cougar Puri TKL

The latest and what I think is the greatest is the Cougar Puri TKL. The Cougar Puri TKL is a compact, Tenkeyless keyboard for eSports gamers who want a smaller, more portable gaming keyboard to take on the go. The Cougar Puri TKL looked and felt high quality and Cougar displayed the keyboard with even more durable metal keycaps installed on the arrow keys and the gaming zone (WASD keys).

Cougar was also happy to report that they’re only using the [...]

Review: Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-04 Chassis

Introduction

Corsair recently updated their budget case lineup with the new Carbide SPEC-04, the successor to the Carbide SPEC-03. The Carbide SPEC-04 brings an overhauled design and some extra features yet maintain its budget price point.

For our review today, we received the Corsair Carbide SPEC-04 in black however, it will also come in red and yellow as well. Corsair’s Carbide SPEC case series has always had the design language that screamed gaming, but the fourth iteration of the series, the SPEC-04, is quite a bit different. Whereas previous generation SPEC series cases featured an ultra-aggressive design, the new SPEC-04 features a design that’s a bit [...]

Today, Phanteks has announced its latest update to its lineup of premium chassis: the EVOLV mATX Tempered Glass Edition. Like the EVOLV ATX TG and Enthoo Luxe TG before it, the EVOLV mATX TG is a mostly aesthetic facelift of the original, adding premium tempered glass side panels and RGB lighting.

Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV mATX Tempered Glass Edition

The EVOLV mATX TG  adds tempered glass side panels to an already pretty solid base that was the original EVOLV mATX. The case also features a number of improvements over some of the other tempered-glass cases in Phanteks’ lineup including magnetic hinges with swivel to open and allow the user to easily get in and out [...]

Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Tempered Glass Review

The Enthoo Luxe, Now a Bit More Luxe

Several years ago, Phanteks launched the Enthoo Luxe case which was and still continues to be an excellent full tower case. While I didn’t get a chance to review it at the time, it was easily one of the best reviewed cases on the market with a full tower form factor, sandblasted aluminum exterior, completely tool-less design, great cable management options, and beautiful LED accents that made it well worth its $150 pricetag.

That said, there’s really no case that can’t be made better with a tempered glass sidepanel which is exactly what Phanteks recently added to their Enthoo Luxe. While I can resist reviewing a great [...]
