In an earlier tweet, Blizzard has confirmed that Destiny 2 will be exclusively distributed through Battlenet, Blizzard’s online gaming service.
This move came as a surprise: Blizzard’s Battlenet platform has historically been reserved for only Blizzard titles. But considering Activision, the publisher for Destiny and Destiny 2, is a sister company to Blizzard, the decision to leverage the platform isn’t too much of a shock.
According to Blizzard, it was tasked with handling Destiny 2’s social and networking aspect. The game will leverage Blizzard’s global network and online social functionality.
The upcoming Call of Duty: WWII will bring the player back to the second great war, breaking the futuristic theme that’s been recurring in the past few Call of Duty Titles.
The reveal trailer replicates the intensely morose atmosphere of Normandy. The player will take on the role of a single soldier and live through his journey in the epic campaign.
The game is available for pre-order now at callofduty.com and will be released on November 3, 2017.
The sequel to Bungie and Activision’s massively popular first-person shooter was recently teased on the studio’s official Twitter page along with a teaser trailer.
The teaser trailer, titled “Last Call”, shows Cayde-6 sharing war stories while downing a green drink. In the flashbacks, Destiny’s The Last City gets destroyed while Cayde-6 provides some entertaining commentary of the event. Unfortunately, no actual gameplay was revealed, but it does reveal that a “worldwide reveal trailer” is coming on March 30, presumably with actual gameplay.
Destiny 2 is expected to be released this fall. Hopefully, Destiny will be [...]

Unlike games of the past where large, high budget games were beta tested by only a handful of beta testers at best, newer high budget games these days run open betas which allow anyone willing to participate a chance to get in on the action. This allows companies to fully stress test their equipment prior to a game launch and give prospective buyers of a certain game a bit of time to try it out and get a feel for the game mechanics.

Gaming giant Blizzard/Activision recently announced a round of layoffs involving 600 members of its staff with most of the laid off employees in positions not related to game development.
Here’s what Mike Morhaime, CEO and Co-Founder of Blizzard has to say about the recent layoffs:
Constant evaluation of teams and processes is necessary for the long-term health of any business. Over the last several years, we’ve grown our organization tremendously and made large investments in our infrastructure in order to better serve our global community. However, as Blizzard and the industry have evolved we’ve also had to [...]
Just took a quick read to the Blizzard earnings call for Q4 2011, so I’m going to share a couple pieces of interesting information.
They made a ton of money. Ok, cool story. That was expected.
They also have a ton of money saved up to launch:
Diablo 3, which is coming in Q2 2012.Or at least, “… we are targeting a Q2 launch for Diablo III. We expect to announce more details about the release schedule in the coming weeks.” Nice, all rumors confirmed. Wonder if we’ll be getting high budget commercials like MW3…
“… all-new, epic first person shooter [...]
Just when you thought CoD: MW3 received enough awards and accolades including winning “Best Shooter” Award in Spike TV’s Video Games Awards Show over the weekend, this game isn’t done yet. Game publisher Activision Blizzard announced Monday that Modern Warfare 3 broke $1 billion in worldwide sales in the 16 days since the game’s release on November 8th. This impressive milestone also defeats the previous record holder, James Cameron’s 3D film “Avatar”, which took 17 days to achieve the $1 billion mark.
Here’s the official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 live action trailer featuring Sam Worthington, Jonah Hill and [...]
