Amazon Prime Now Offers Prime Reading at No Extra Charge

Over the years Amazon has made quite a bit of improvements to their Prime service. While originally just a free 2-day shipping deal, Amazon added a number of additional features including streaming video, streaming music, and recently even ad-free game streaming with their Twitch Prime service.

However, what’s disappointing is that Amazon doesn’t have any sort of books and magazine service with Amazon Prime, which is strange given that Amazon started their entire business off selling books, and offers the Kindle and Fire, some of the most popular eReaders and tablets on the market today. This however, is about to change.

According to a recent [...]

Microsoft Reveals “Surface” – Tablet PC’s to Make a Comeback?

In a low-key event in Los Angeles on June 18th, 2012, Microsoft revealed its own line of tablets dubbed “Surface”, which will be running Microsoft’s upcoming operating system, Windows 8. Despite being a couple years late to the party, Microsoft has picked a critical time to enter the tablet market as growth in PC sales have slowed down considerably while interest in tablets such as the iPad or Amazon Kindle Fire are at an all time high.

Since we’re talking about Microsoft here, there practically has to be multiple editions of this thing and surprise surprise, there is. Luckily there’s only two versions to worry about though. Pro and [...]

So after I posted the video on the Blackberry Playbook vs the Amazon Kindle Fire I did a bit of browsing and I found this really sweet article off lilputing which teaches us how to install the beta version of OS 2.0.

For those who don’t know, Playbook OS v2.0 will include a lot of the features that SHOULD’VE been included upon release of the Blackberry Playbook such as a native e-mail client for starters and a whole lot more. Amazon Kindle Fire Update Coming Soon

According to the New York Times, Amazon is dropping an OTA software update for its Kindle Fire tablet within the next two weeks. This new update is supposed to address issues regarding privacy and general OS sluggishness as well as other customer and press complaints.

Seems like Amazon is really working hard to make the Kindle Fire a success. Personally, I’ve had no such problems, but I always welcome a good software update. Anybody have any of the problems listed above? I wanna know! Drop a comment.
