Synology is a company well known for their excellent, easy to use NAS systems, and several years ago they decided to enter the router market with the Synology Router RT1900ac which combined their expertise in producing quality, intuitive, easy to use operating systems with a high performance router solution. While we didn’t get a chance to review the RT1900ac at the time, it was very well received by customers and press, which is why when Synology announced the Router RT2600ac, we absolutely had to check it out.

How to Build an DIY Security System Using Synology Surveillance Station

Feeling Safe

Over the past few years, video surveillance has become increasingly popular in homes and businesses, and the reason for this is simple. Years ago, installing a video surveillance system typically involved hardwiring every single camera to a DVR and only those who purchased expensive higher end DVRs could then watch the footage on their laptops or smartphones. Two Bay NAS Juggernauts

Nearly a year ago, I reviewed the Synology DiskStation DS212 and at the time I wasn’t very familiar with just how far NAS units have come these days in terms of software and features. Today, we’ll be reviewing both the Synology DiskStation DS213+ and the QNAP TS-269 Pro 2 bay NAS units. These are small business oriented NAS units, which means they’ll be right at home running web servers and database servers, but they’ll still do the [...]
