AMD hosted an AMA (Ask Me Anything) Q&A thread on Reddit to celebrate the launch of their new Ryzen CPUs and address some key concerns. Participants included Dr Lisa Su (AMD CEO), Robert Hallock (CPU Technical Marketing), and James Prior (CPU Business Development). We’ve sorted through the thread and extracted the important bits.
Q: Is gaming performance something you will work towards going forward with the Zen architecture? (Reddit user Makkarikock)
Lisa Su: Absolutely! You should expect gaming performance to only get better with time as the developers have more time with “Zen”.
AMD had also recently announced a [...]
Skyrim fans looking for a slick new coat of paint on the nearly 5 year old game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition promises to deliver just that. Along with remastered artwork and effects, Skyrim Special Edition also features volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, 64-bit architecture and new water/snow shaders. In addition, the Special Edition will also include all DLCs.
The add on features, tantalizing as they may be, do come with their trade offs. More specifically, the hardware requirements have been drastically bumped to what you would expect from a machine robust enough to drive visual mods that enthusiasts have been [...]
Fallout 4 is the younger, cockier child of the prestigious Fallout family. The family is one of the more successful and beloved gaming franchises on the market, with big brothers Fallout 3 and New Vegas selling millions of copies and inspiring modding communities years after their release. Meanwhile, Fallout 4 hangs out with celebrities and parks his Porsche in two different parking spots because he can. There are some slight spoilers in this review, but by time you’re reading this everyone will pretty much know the gist of the story anyway.
The Story We Tell Ourselves
What are Fallout games about? If you asked me, which I just [...]
Fallout 4; Bethesda’s highly anticipated latest installment of its post-apocalyptic, open-world franchise, has finally been released. The Fallout series has long been known to be one of the most welcoming to the PC mod development scene, and unfortunately that is because these games are often launched with bugs, performance issues, and other annoyances that are sometimes only fixed by the community. While Bethesda’s games have always been hugely popular on PC, it is no secret that they can have issues on some configurations at the time of their launch. Anyone who’s played Skyrim with an AMD processor probably knows exactly what I’m talking [...]
Earlier today Bethesda showed off the Fallout 4 PC recommended specs and they are pretty intensive, which should be a good sign. Let’s run them down, and I can give my opinion of it.
PC Systems Requirements (Requires Internet Connection and Free Steam Account to Activate)
Minimum Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required) Intel Core i5-2300 2.8 GHz/AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 GHz or equivalent 8 GB RAM 30 GB free HDD space NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or equivalent
So, first off, the choice of CPUs seems just a bit confusing, The i5 should be at least 10% better than the Phenom even with the clock disadvantage. Perhaps the game just needs a modern [...]
Bethesda held their first E3 press conference a day before E3 started and while it’s too early to say for sure, they may have just stolen the show.Fallout 4
After last week’s teaser trailer for Fallout 4, the popular software company provided an early peek at some of the new features of their long running series. Improvements include the inclusion of a non-silent protagonist, the ability to build and maintain forts and bases, as well as various graphical improvements and a new engine. A companion iPhone/Android application was also announced, providing the player with access to their in game Pip-Boy.
For the collector, a special edition of [...]
Bethesda recently showed off a brief teaser of their highly anticipated first person shooter, Doom. Doom, the fourth major installment in the Doom series, was originally announced all the way back in 2008, but was delayed numerous times in development.
The short trailer released recently doesn’t really show much, but it gives us something to look forward to. The publisher is expected to show off more footage at E3 next month, but for now, enjoy the *short* video.

Its summer! Time to relax outside in the wonderful weather and bathe under the warm welcoming sun. Nevertheless, if you’re a gamer who prefers to concentrate on your monitor rather than work on them tan lines, there’s still plenty to celebrate.
Recently, a list of games and other information about the elusive Steam summer sale has been leaked onto Reddit by Redditor, Dweezy. Of course, the list here is still considered rumor as no official confirmation has been made by Steam, but it does give us a good idea of what to expect in the coming weeks.
