Linksys Announces WRT32X Gaming Router with Killer QoS

 

Coinciding with Gamescom 2017, Linksys recently launched a new flagship consumer gaming router, the Linksys WRT32X.

The Linksys WRT32X is a 802.11ac router based on the WRT3200 platform, but what’s special about it is that it utilizes the Killer Networking Prioritization Engine to ensure that gaming traffic get top priority and are transferred as quickly as possible. According to Linksys, it could potentially shave off 77% in-game latency and the prioritization engine will also intelligently manage traffic when there’s no gaming activity to ensure smooth web browsing experience for all connected devices.

Several weeks ago, we were able to get our hands on Razer’s new wired ambidextrous eSports grade gaming mouse, the Razer Lancehead Tournament Edition, which we were quite impressed with. AMD Launches EPYC 7000 Series Processors: Up to 32-Cores/64-Threads, 8-Channel DDR4, 128 PCIe Gen 3 Lanes

AMD’s Zen based server platform, EPYC (codename Naples), has been in the works for quite some time and it finally appears ready for prime time. Qualcomm Announces Snapdragon 660 and 630 SoCs

Qualcomm’s latest midrange SoCs are finally here! The Snapdragon 660 and 630 SoCs are slated to replace the highly successful Snapdragon 653 and the Snapdragon 625 SoCs.

The Qualcomm 660 switches from the big.LITTLE architecture to a unified octa-core architecture. The new processor replaces the ARM Cortex A72 and A53 CPUs in favor of eight Kryo 260 CPUs. The GPU has also been updated to the Adreno 512. Qualcomm states that users would see a 20% improvement in compute performance and 30% improvement in graphics over its predecessor.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Powered Windows 10 Mobile PCs Coming 4Q2017

Back in December 2016, Qualcomm and Microsoft had demonstrated Windows 10 running on a mobile device equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. In the demo, Windows 10 was shown running on a smartphone via emulation. The demo also showcased the scaling functionality of Windows Universal Apps.

At the time, no additional information was provided as to when a Snapdragon SoC based Windows 10 device would ship.

However, at their recent earnings call, Qualcomm revealed plans to “disrupt” existing suppliers of PC by launching a Snapdragon 835 powered Windows 10 device by the end of this year.

Softbank May Sell 25% Stake in ARM Holdings to Investment Fund

In a recent report by the New York Times, Japanese conglomerate SoftBank may be looking to sell a 25% stake in ARM. According to the undisclosed source, SoftBank is in final stage talks to sell the stake in ARM, which they acquired for $32 Bilion in one of the largest technology acquisitions of last year. ARM is one of the largest semiconductor design firms in the world with their architecture powering a majority of the world’s mobile devices.

Samsung Announces Exynos 9 8895 10nm Octa-Core SoC: +27% Performance, +40% Power Efficiency

In a recent announcement, Samsung announced their latest 10nm based Exynos 9 8895 SoC. Manufactured on Samsung’s latest 10nm FinFET with an improved 3D structure, the Samsung Exynos 9 8895 features 27% higher performance at a 40% decreased power consumption compared to previous generation 14nm SoCs.
