According to a recent statement, credit reporting agency Equifax has suffered a major data breach exposing information such as names, addresses, social security numbers, birthdays, driver license numbers, credit card numbers, and other personally identifying information of approximately 143 million users in the US, Canada and UK.

The hack began back in mid-May, but wasn’t discovered late July of this year. According to the Equifax, hackers utilized a web application vulnerability to execute the hack, but additional details were not revealed at this time.

For those potentially affected, Equifax has setup a website, www.equifaxsecurity2017.com, which provides information regarding the hack along with the option to sign up for a complementary year of TrustedID credit monitoring and identity theft protection.
