Polaris Enhanced?

A few weeks ago, AMD launched the Radeon RX 500 series, which is mostly a refresh of the previous-generation RX 400 series they launched less than a year ago. Mostly because the Radeon RX 500 series is based on the very same Polaris architecture as its predecessor, albeit on a slightly more mature process. Whatever your stance on rebadges, it’s clear that AMD has decided to double-down on its Polaris architecture in 2017, at least for the midrange and entry-level segments until its RX Vega GPUs appear later on to cover the high-end market. So like it are not, Polaris is here to stay for the foreseeable future.

AMD Releases Radeon Crimson Edition 16.10.1 Driver, Optimizes Gear of War 4, Mafia III, and More

AMD recently released an update for its Radeon Software Crimson Edition drivers. The new drivers, Crimson version 16.10.1, adds better support for Gears of War 4 and Mafia 3 and includes an AMD CrossFire profile for Shadow Warrior 2.

Additionally, the driver fixes issues with a number of popular games including Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, The Crew, Battlefield 1, Overwatch, and Paragon. AMD also fixed Radeon WattMan power limit settings and Pixel Format is no longer missing in Radeon RX 400 series products.

AMD Releases Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.9.2 Drivers for Forza Horizon 3

Earlier today, we reported on NVIDIA releasing their Game Ready drivers for GeForce graphics cards in time for the release of Forza Horizon 3: Ultimate Edition, which launches tomorrow (pre-loads available now). AMD has answered back with their own driver updates in the form of the Radeon Software Crimson Edition 19.9.2 which are tailored for Forza Horizon 3.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Will No Longer Support DX12 at Launch

Last year, it was revealed that the latest installment in the long-running cyberpunk-themed series, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided would support Microsoft’s latest DirectX 12 API at launch.
