Rumor: Intel’s 2012 SSD Roadmap

Looks like DigiTimes has the scoop on Intel’s upcoming SSD lineup this year.

According to an article they recently published, Intel is apparently coming out with a couple SSDs this year, with their sources citing that “2012 is going to be a key year”. Beginning in May, Intel will introduce the 300 SSDs, codenamed Maple Crest, as well as the 720 series, codenamed Ramsdale. Both SSDs are expected to be based off Intel’s 25nm MLC process; however, other information about the drives are currently unknown at this time.

Nvidia Unveils the GK104 based GeForce GTX 680 Graphics Card

Well, the wait was long, but it seems like Nvidia has finally gotten around to launching the GK104 based GeForce GTX 680 graphics card.

The new 28nm, Kepler based graphics card is packing some serious firepower bringing an insane 1536 CUDA cores (3x more than the last generation flagship GTX 580), 2GB of GDDR5 running off a 256 bit memory interface, 1006MHz core clock with the ability to boost up to 1056Mhz, and an effective memory clock of 6GHz.

AMD Radeon HD 7990 Coming in April, Nvidia Dual GK104 in the Works

Looks like we’re not the only ones seeing the leaks of how fast the GTX 680 will be.

According to FudZilla, AMD is hard at work on the dual GPU Radeon HD 7990 aka New Zealand, making sure they have an attack plan ready as soon as the GTX 680 launches. While there’s no confirmed price, date, or pictures for that matter on the rumored graphics card, they are reporting that the dual GPU Radeon HD 7990 could launch as early as April.

Additionally, they’re also claiming that Nvidia has a dual GK104 GPU in the works as well. Again, no pricing, dates, or pictures were provided at this time.

MSI recently announced the release of their top of the line custom built R7970 Lightning graphics card.
