So all you got for Christmas is money. What better way to spend that money than to put together you own awesome gaming / video editing machine?

Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler Review

Phanteks Flagship Monster

So up until very recently I’ve never heard of the name Phanteks. In fact, I’m sure very few of you have either and that’s because they are a fairly new contender in the CPU cooling arena. However, according to their website, this apparently isn’t their first foray into developing thermal solutions. No… Phanteks, a Holland based company, has been providing thermal solutions for more than 20 years.

Today we’ll be doing a review on their first product, the flagship Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU cooler and just by looking at the pictures and specifications on their website, we can tell that it’s going to be an [...]

AMD Radeon HD 7970: Does PCI-E 3.0 Really Matter?

Well, it’s been only a couple hours since the launch of AMD’s Radeon HD 7970 and the guys over at VR-Zone have already run a whole bunch of tests on it. One of the tests I found quite interesting is the PCI-E 3.0 test they’ve conducted to see if PCI-E 2.0 will bottleneck the HD 7970.

Anyway, long story short they ran the customary 3D Mark 11 run as well as ComputeMark and the performance difference is <1%. Drop by the link below for more details.

Razer Blade Gaming Notebook Delayed Until January 2012

So remember a week or two back when Razer was announcing that the Razer Blade would be available for pre-order and shipping by Christmas? Well, it looks like that isn’t happening. Sorry folks.

What happened? Well it seems like a SSD shortage is what happened. And I thought that was a hard drive only thing….

Because we managed to upgrade the HDD to an SSD at the eleventh hour, we were only able to secure quantities of the new SSDs to arrive at our manufacturing facilities at the last minute and as a result, we will not be able to fulfill our initial launch orders of the Razer Blade before the holidays. We expect to be able to ship our initial quantities [...]

AMD Launches The Radeon HD 7970 AKA World’s Fastest Single GPU Card

“NEVER SETTLE. The world’s first 28nm GPU architecture. Engineered to humiliate the competition.”

Looks like all the rumors of the HD 7970’s launch was right on spot. The AMD HD 7970 is officially launched per AMD’s own press release and it looks like they’re claiming that it’s the world’s fastest. Of course not only are they claiming the the world’s fastest, but also the world’s first 28nm graphics chip. Bravo to AMD for pulling this off!

What other notable things are we looking at here? Well how about support for PCI-E 3.0, “refined” PowerTune technology and ZeroCore Power Technology that [...]

Just a quick, to the point memory unboxing of some Gskill Sniper memory. These are pretty sweet looking sticks, have a lifetime warranty, and are pretty cheap. If you’re interested, they are currently available on Newegg.

Also, remember if you are purchasing memory for Sandy Bridge processors, be sure to purchase 1.5v or lower memory to avoid damaging your cpu.
