Sapphire and Gigabyte Custom HD 7970 Leaked

A couple more days till CES 2012, and information about a the Sapphire and Gigabyte custom Radeon HD 7970’s have been leaked.

This leak comes over from ChipHell who’s managed to snag a spec sheet of the Sapphire line of HD 7970’s. There are a couple iterations of the custom Sapphire card, but the most impressive is in its Atomic series which is expected to come factory  overclocked to 1335MHz core and 5735MHz memory. That’s a full 410Mhz, or 44% overclock! Right out of the box! Take a look at the leaked spec sheet below.

Another interesting card in the lineup is the FLEX 6G. It’s not factory overclocked or anything like that, but it [...]

AMD Planning to Launch Three Radeon HD 7000 Chips by March?

According to an article from FudZilla, AMD is planning to release three different Radeon HD 7000 series chips by March.

The first of the three chips is the Tahiti XT, or Radeon HD 7970, which we already all know and love by now followed by the Tahiti Pro, or Radeon HD 7950, that we’re looking forward to seeing soon. It’s already confirmed to have a 900MHz GPU clock, 1792 shaders, and 3GB of GDDR5 running at 5GHz effective. This card is reported to come with a price tag of $449 as well. Additionally, it is reported that a 1.5GB edition of the HD 7950 will be coming soon as well which should be interesting especially if the price is right.

AMD is also [...]

Intel Ivy Bridge Coming April 8

We knew Intel would be releasing its new Ivy Bridge processors in April, but we now have April 8th as the date to watch out for. However, since that falls on a Sunday, April 9th should be the date when we know all the juicy details about the new processors.

Intel is expected to be releasing 25 new processors along with 8 new chipsets which should take the place of current Sandy Bridge processors and chipsets. These new cpus and chipsets are expected to match prices of current Sandy Bridge CPUs and chipsets as well.

According to Digitimes’ Taiwanese sources, the first Ivy Bridge wave will include no less than 25 processors (17 desktop models and 8 [...]

Best Gaming PC Build Under $1000 [January 2012]

No idea why I haven’t done this yet, but here’s what I’d do for a gaming rig under $1,000. Enjoy!

Computer Build Budget: $1000

CPU – Intel Core i5 2400

Ideally, go with the Intel Core i5 2500K. Currently that CPU is unmatched when compared performance to dollar, but sometimes you have a budget and you have to stick to it. In this case, we’re trying to keep it under $1,000 so we’re going to go with the Intel Core i5 2400. Don’t be mistaken however. It’s still a quad core second generation Sandy Bridge processor running at 3.1GHz and will rock any game you throw at it.

Motherboard [...]

Galaxy GTX 560 GC 2GB Review

Introduction

The Galaxy GTX560 GC 2GB edition is Galaxy’s contender in the mid-to-low level gaming graphics arena. Priced at just slightly higher than the reference GTX 560, this DX11 card comes with 2GB of GDDR5, 336 CUDA cores, 256 bit memory interface, a slight factory overclock of 850MHz, and a 3 year warranty.

Perhaps the most striking feature about the Galaxy GTX560 GC is its dual removable fans on top of its wicked-looking customized heatsink. Designed to reduce flying dust clouds during cleaning (and quiet cooling performance, of course), these fans eliminate the need for compressed air – just [...]

Radeon HD 7950 Specs Leaked

Well since we all know the new Radeon HD 7970 will cost $550 USD, the obvious gpu to look out for on January 9 will be the HD 7950 and from a leaked slide on DonanimHaber, we now have an idea of the HD 7950’s specs!

While its no HD 7970, the specs are still quite impressive.

4,312,711,873 Transistors 1792 Stream Processors / 28 Compute Units (CU) 3GB GDDR5 / 384 bit Memory Interface 5Gb/s Memory Clock

We still don’t know the core clock and pricing of the card itself, but similarly to the HD 7970, details should be surfacing in the coming days. Stay tuned for that. This one will be quite exciting!

Who’s picking up a HD7950 on launch day? [...]
