The launch date of Intel’s new Ivy Bridge processors have been confirmed for April 29, 2012!
According to a leaked slide over at DonanimHaber, Intel is launching 10 Intel Core i5 and i7 22nm Ivy Bridge processors on April 29 while another 5 more Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge processors will come on June 3rd. Additionally, as rumored previously, Intel is planning to launch a total of 4 new chipsets along with the launch of the first wave of Ivy Bridge Processors. For those of you planning on purchasing a new laptop anytime soon, you might want to hold off until April for the new Ivy Bridge processors coming out soon, which promises similar performance to the current second generation Sandy Bridge processors at much lower TDP (Thermal Design Power). While the specific date still isn’t final, according to FudZilla, Intel’s new Ivy Bridge mobile and desktop processors should be launched in week 14, which will correlate to around April 1st to April 7th.

We knew Intel would be releasing its new Ivy Bridge processors in April, but we now have April 8th as the date to watch out for. However, since that falls on a Sunday, April 9th should be the date when we know all the juicy details about the new processors.
Intel is expected to be releasing 25 new processors along with 8 new chipsets which should take the place of current Sandy Bridge processors and chipsets. These new cpus and chipsets are expected to match prices of current Sandy Bridge CPUs and chipsets as well.
