As portable devices have become more prevalent, power banks have become the must have for anyone who spends any time away from an electrical outlet. Typically power banks offer a microUSB or a USB Type-C port for charging and while many devices have now adopted microUSB or USB-C, many devices still require AC power, which is a problem if your power bank only supports USB charging.
One innovative company looking to make power banks a bit more versatile is Jackery, which recently launched an Indiegogo campaign on their new PowerBar power bank. Over the past month, Jackery was kind enough to let us test one of the early units, so let’s take a look![...]
Ever since I laid my hands on a mechanical keyboard several years ago, I was hooked. Today, almost every keyboard I own is mechanical with the exception of the keyboard on my laptop and a Bluetooth keyboard I use from time to time with my HTPC or tablet. Wouldn’t it be great if everything could be mechanical? I sure think so and Razer seems to think so as well.
Several weeks ago, Razer introduced their new Ultra Low-Profile Mechanical Switches which attempts to solve one of the biggest hurdles to mechanical switches being implemented in portable applications – size. Up until this point, mechanical [...]
Rarely do I think to myself, “I really wish I had a pair of wireless, portable speakers that I could take with me places.” As you might imagine, I’m not one of those people you sometimes encounter in public, blasting whatever noise they consider to be music from their phones, perfectly clashing with the music playing over the supermarket’s PA system (if I were one of those people, I’d probably go all out and hold my cell phone and two speakers in my hands while simultaneously shopping and annoying everyone within a 20 foot radius of me, but that’s just me…)
As such, I’ve never really thought I’d be [...]

Being a tech reviewer, I’m always ahead of the curve when it comes to tech. Years ago, I dumped my old landline home phone service in favor of having VoIP and a cellphone, and haven’t really looked back since. Of course, when I dumped my landline phones along with my landlines back in the day, they weren’t nearly as advanced as they have become now.
We’ve practically seen it in a number of markets from headsets to cars to everything inbetween. Products are becoming a whole lot more versatile than the one trick [...]
These days it seems like there isn’t a single day that goes by without some company introducing a brand new Bluetooth speaker. They’re practically everywhere and like it or not, even guys like Ultimate Ears (UE) who typically reside in the high end of the audio market sometimes come out to play.
A couple weeks ago Logitech/Ultimate Ears asked if I was interested in checking out a brand new Bluetooth speaker they were coming out with. While I typically don’t accept too many Bluetooth speaker reviews since there are just so many to check out, they told me that the new speakers were quite unique as it had an ultra long battery life, could be [...]
Over the past couple years, a number of companies that have traditionally been geared towards producing computer hardware have shifted their focus a bit to the mobile device market and have unveiled wireless storage devices aimed at mobile users. These devices are generally battery powered and include some sort of wireless functionality that allow PCs and mobile devices to connect to them. Kingston for example has the Wi-Drive, Patriot has their Gauntlet, Corsair recently introduced their Voyager Air, and now ADATA has the DashDrive Air. While all of these devices serve a similar purpose, they all have unique features that set them [...]
Normally, we review computer hardware here at Custom PC Review, but sometimes we find a piece of tech that’s so innovative and so possibly useful that we really have to check it out.
That piece of tech we’re taking a look at today is the NewerTech Power 2U AC/USB Wall Outlet. Ever had the problem where you wanted to charge your iPhone and all you’ve got is the USB cable? What about that new tablet that only shipped with the USB cable? Well, NewerTech has just the house upgrade for you.
Breaking another tradition here, normally we’d talk features, specifications, and all that other stuff, but honestly if you take a look to the [...]
We spend a lot of time and money for the iPhones which, let’s face it easily gets damaged whether it’s the little scratches or full on cracks in the glass, it happens to the best of us (and somehow in a very short amount of time too!), which sucks because we spend a lot of money for such a fragile device. Oh and not to mention most of us are on that 2 year contract which is a big bummer.
LifeProof understands, and wants iPhone owners to be sure their phone is protected from, well whatever happens in life. They want to make sure your brand spanking new iPhone 4/4s is fully protected from the elements, accidents, and just pure stupidity. [...]
