Ubiquiti AmpliFi HD Review

Mesh, the future?

In the past year, Mesh Wi-Fi has become the new buzzword in the world of home networking as a possible solution to the all to well known Wi-Fi deadspots issue many homeowners face. Among the sea of new products from companies such as Google, Netgear, Linksys and eero, one of the most promising mesh Wi-Fi router systems is from a company called Ubiquiti.

In consumer networking equipment, Ubiquiti isn’t all that well known. That’s because they produce powerful enterprise networking equipment designed to be used in environments such as stadiums, concert halls, restaurants, shopping malls, businesses and more. The Smartest Thermostat Ever?

Ever since the Nest introduced their smart learning thermostat back in 2011, smart thermostats have become one of the most popular upgrades for people looking to make their homes just a bit “smarter”. While Nest is without a doubt the most popular name in home automation thanks to Alphabet Inc’s (Google) acquisition of the company back in 2014, numerous other entrants into the smart thermostat market have appeared with one of the most promising being Ecobee, a Canadian home automation company currently specializing in smart thermostats.

Feeling Safe

As you can imagine, this is both costly and impractical especially for an average home or small business owner.

Recently, things are much different thanks to the explosion of the IoT market as new solutions have made video surveillance affordable and easy to setup. As such, today we’ll be showing you [...]

Hands On: Overwatch Beta – First Impressions From a Guy Who’s Barely Played the Game

As you probably know, there was a invitational stress test beta test weekend test for Overwatch, Blizzards new first person shooter featuring MOBA elements.

Unfortunately for me, I wasn’t invited, and I intend to write Blizzard a strongly worded letter some point. Hurt feelings aside, a friend was kind enough to let me use their account to play the beta for around 45 minutes or an hour… Or three days… I’m not good with time. The point being, I didn’t get to play as much as I’d have liked to, but I feel my experience was something I wanted to talk about.

I knew very little about Overwatch before [...]
