Earlier today, Ubisoft released the system requirements for their team-based, tactical FPS: Rainbow Six Siege. This comes at no surprise, considering the game will be here in just three weeks, when it launches on December 1st. Fortunately, unlike some previous AAA Ubisoft releases, the requirements here are not too steep, although you’ll likely want to be running more than the minimum requirements.

I’m not quite sure why the Fury X is listed here, as every other GPU listed from both AMD and NVIDIA are comparable in performance. I’m hopping listing it in the recommended section was a mistake on behalf of someone at Ubisoft.

Ubisoft also provided a much more specific breakdown of video cards that will be supported at release:

  • NVIDIA – GeForce GTX460 or better, GTX560 or better, GTX650 or better, GTX750 or better, or any card from the GT900 and Titan Series
  • AMD – Radeon HD5870 or better, HD6870 or better, HD7770 or better, R7 260X or better, or any card from the R-300 series and Fury X

They also noted the following:

Laptop models of these cards may work but are not supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game. Additional chipsets may be supported after release.

It seems to me that essentially any DirectX 11 GPU will be supported at launch, as they’ve basically covered every one ever released here, with the exception of some lower-end models. All and all, the requirements listed here do seem to lineup with our team’s initial experiences with the various betas. However, we only tested a limited amount of hardware. We’ll be conducting a thorough test with a wide variety of hardware once the final version of the  game is in our hands.
