The Intel Core i7 2600K has the Intel Core i7 2700K so what about the Intel Core i5 2500K? Well, soon it’s going to have the Intel Core i5 2550K.
The new processor will have the box number BX80623I52550K and as you can guess, it will be called the i5 2550K. While specifications on this new processor is unknown at this time, we do know that it will be a Sandy Bridge processor, not Ivy Bridge. Given this information, our best guess is that the new processor will have some similar specifications to the current i5 2500K but will probably get a speed bump.
Since this is a K processor, one thing we know for sure is that the multiplier will be unlocked and we are hoping that it will have overclocking capabilities similar to that of the Intel Core i7 2700K.
