CES 2017: Samsung Displays Stunning CF791, CH711, UH750 Quantum Dot Displays
Samsung is one of the largest manufacturers of LCD panels in the world, so it’s natural that they had quite a few displays to show at CES. While their new QLED TVs were the highlight of the show, Samsung also showed off a slew of monitors based on their Quantum Dot display technology.
The most impressive of Samsung’s displays is the Samsung CF791. Spanning across 34-inches of ultrawide screen real estate, the Samsung CF791 features a VA panel with Quantum Dot technology which allows the display to achieve a contrast ratio of 3,000:1 and 125% sRGB coverage. It also features a WQHD resolution of 3440×1440, 4ms response time, and an immersive 1500R curvature for the most immersive computing experience. For gamers, the CF791 is also capable of up to 100Hz refresh rate and includes support for AMD Freesync.
Connectivity options include two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort, two USB 3.0 ports, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The stand is also height adjustable and a Kensington lock port is available for additional security.
The Samsung CF791 is currently shipping at a MSRP of $999.99.
New for CES 2017 is the Samsung CH711. The Samsung CH711, which is available in 27-inch and 31.5-inch variations, will feature a VA panel (125% RGB spectrum) with Quantum Dot technology, a UHD (2560×1440) resolution, and an 1800R curvature. For the gamers out there, the monitor also supports FreeSync technology and for the 27-inch model, a 1ms response time (4ms response time for the 31.5-inch model).
Ports on the rear include HDMI, DisplayPort, and DC In. The unit also comes with an interesting cable which can be fed through the inside of the monitor stand for a clean, cable free look.
The Samsung CH711 is expected to be available in early 2017. Pricing is still unknown at this time.
