In a Twitter post, AMD has confirmed that Vega is approaching completion and that it will be coming in Q2 2017.

AMD’s VEGA GPUs will be AMD’s high-end offering designed to compete against Nvidia’s GTX 1080 Ti and GTX Titan Xp. In an interview with WCCF Tech, Don Woligroski, Desktop CPU Marketing Manager at AMD, stated that Vega’s performance looks “real nice” compared to the Nvidia competitors.

AMD had previously demonstrated Vega running real-time rendering and stitching a 4K 3D environment at CES in Las Vegas, where AMD has also revealed some information behind Vega’s features.

The first GPU that will be release is most likely the flagship Vega 10 GPU. The chip is expected to make its full debut at Computex which will be taking place in May 2017.
