In with the new, out with the old.

Due to AMD’s recent release of two new FX processors, the FX-4170 and FX-6200, AMD is slashing prices on a whole slew of older CPUs from the Phenom II X2 all the way up to the FX-8120 Black Edition. While it’s not a firesale, any discount is definitely welcome especially considering how Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors have pretty much been the show lately.

According to the chart below from CPU-World, the price cuts will range from ~2 to ~15% with the Phenom X4 965 getting the largest discount at 14.8%. Pricing at Amazon and Newegg still appear unchanged, but hopefully they will be adjusting in the coming days.

CPU-World is also reporting the release of a couple more AMD APUs such as the A6-3620 and the A8-3820 as well, so if you’re interested in some more details hop on over to the link below!
