Several weeks ago, Intel and rival AMD made headlines when the two companies announced that Intel would begin using AMD Vega graphics in some of its mobile CPUs. It appears that the first SKU is finally rolling off the production line with the model name Core i7-8809G.
The Core i7-8809G carries a 4 core, 8 thread CPU. When Intel teased this chip in November 2017, it did so under the moniker “Kaby Lake G”, which suggests that it’ll likely feature Kaby Lake architecture with some tweaks rather than the new Coffee Lake architecture that’s rolling out on some of the newer 8th Generation Core Processors.

As the end of the year approaches, AMD packed a special surprise for its graphics card users – the Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition (Yes, that’s Adrenaline without an “e”) which is now available for download at AMD’s website here. The new update brings a healthy boost to features as well as many refinements to existing features.
Performance has always been the paramount focus when it comes to any driver. According to AMD, the new Andrenalin driver ups the performance in some popular titles like Overwatch, Prey, and Project Cars 2. Input latency has been optimised slightly for DX11 titles. however, [...]
After a succession of failures, Joe Belfiore, VP of Operating Systems at Microsoft, confirmed via Twitter that Microsoft will not be creating another Windows phone.
In another Tweet, Belfiore explained that Windows Phone’s phone’s fundamental issue was one it had since day one: the lack of apps. Users won’t use a phone with no apps, and companies won’t develop apps for a platform with no users. This vicious cycle is what ultimately drove the nail in the coffin. Joe also promised that Windows 10 mobile will continue to receive security updates, but active development in both hardware and software have ceased.
At the beginning of this year, gaming hardware company Razer made a surprising move when they acquired struggling smartphone company Nextbit Systems, a company best known for their affordable cloud based smartphone, the Nextbit Robin. At the time, Razer kept quiet on what they had planned to do with the acquisition, but given Razer’s heritage, it was almost certain that they would somehow end up creating some sort of smartphone for gamers.
If you’ve visited Razer’s website lately, it appears that that’s exactly what Razer is about to do. On the website, you may have seen an interesting picture which shows a man holding what appears to be a [...]
Raja Koduri, head of AMD’s Radeon Technology Group (RTG), has recently revealed that he will be going on a sabbatical starting September 25 until December.
According to a recent article at PC Perspective, employees of RTG received the following email:
You haven’t heard from me collectively in a while – a symptom not only of the whirlwind of launching Vega, but simply of the huge number of demands on my time since the formation of RTG. Looking back over this short period, it is an impressive view. We have delivered 6 straight quarters of double-digit growth in graphics, culminating in the launch of Vega and being back in high-performance. [...]
When it boils down to it, one of the most important components of your new gaming PC is the keyboard. Aside from the mouse, the keyboard, and maybe a gaming controller there’s literally nothing else that translates what you want to do to the PC. Unless you invest mind control… or something.
Over the past few years, one of the most popular categories of gaming keyboards have been the mechanical gaming keyboards. Unlike the cheap, soft and mushy rubber dome keyboards, mechanical gaming keyboards offer a better feel, more consistent actuation, better overall performance, and better reliability.
That said, with the increased popularity of mechanical [...]

Although this may be the first time you’re using it, Snapchat is one of the most popular social networking platforms on mobile devices. Snapchat’s major differentiating factor is that photos or videos are sent out as what they call “Snaps” to either users you select or you can post them as stories so others can see what you’ve been up to.
However, one thing about the Snapchat is that if you’ve been a user of Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, Snapchat’s interface isn’t the easiest to figure out. There are very few instructions in the app on how to use it, which makes it difficult to do simple things like upload a picture or [...]
For those of you waiting eagerly on any information about AMD’s upcoming high end Ryzen Threadripper CPUs, AMD CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, recently shared an image this morning on Twitter of her holding what appears to be the final retail packaging for the CPU.
In the post, Dr. Su also once again confirmed that both RX Vega and Threadripper will be present at the SIGGRAPH 2017 show at the end of this month and in a response to a question, AMD confirmed that Threadripper will be on retail shelves in early August.
Excited? I sure am!
