Nvidia Unveils Volta in $149,000 DGX-1 Supercomputer

Nvidia dropped a bombshell at their GPU Technology Conference today, launching their new DGX-1 supercomputer platform powered by the new Volta GPU architecture.

Cray XC50 Supercomputer Packs Over 1 Petaflop Computing Power in a Single Cabinet

SC16, the biggest annual supercomputing conference, is now taking place in Salt Lake City, Utah and one of the coolest new products being launched at the show is the Cray XC50 Supercomputer which Cray claims is able to reach over 1 petaflop of performance in a single cabinet.

In order to reach the 1 petaflop of compute performance, each one of Cray’s XC50 cabinets contain three chassis, which include 16 compute blades each. Each compute blade is then split into four nodes, each of which contain a Xeon CPU and a Nvidia Tesla P100 GPU Accelerator. Nvidia Unveils GTX Titan Z with 12GB VRAM for $3,000

It looks like there’s a new super GPU solution in town as Nvidia recently announced the GeForce GTX Titan Z at their annual GPU Developer’s Conference in San Jose. The GeForce GTX Titan Z is a dual GPU solution equipped with 12GB 7Gbps GDDR5 memory, 5760 CUDA cores, and 8 Teraflops of pure processing power. Essentially, it’s like having twin Titans optimized to run with the same clock speed with dynamic power balancing for some supremely amazing graphics processing performance.
