According to a new report from Business Insider, Apple’s smartwatch may be starting to lose steam.
In an investor’s note from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple’s smartwatch business may see a 15%-25% decline from 2015 as the introduction of the Series 2 Apple Watch and price cuts on the Series 1 Apple Watch does little to improve sales. Revised shipment numbers are down from an estimated 10-10.5 million units to 8.5-9 million units. In 2015, Apple shipped a total of 10.4 million units.
Kuo believes that there are 4 major reasons that the Apple Watch is tanking. These include a lack of killer applications, inadequate battery life, heavy [...]

A number of companies showed off new technologies during LSI’s AIS 2012, but one of the companies whose products really stood out to me was Everspin Technologies with their ST-MRAM. At their AIS booth, Everspin Technologies demonstrated the first ever commercialized 64 Mb DDR3 ST-MRAM (Spin Torque – Magnetoresistive Random Access Memory). ST-MRAM is a newly developed MRAM technology that takes advantage of “Spin Torque” technology which uses the electron’s spin to record the state of the RAM.
Why is this important? Well, let me try to explain how this innovative technology works and why it could revolutionize computers of the future. Traditional [...]
Among other products from a multitude of vendors, one of the major highlights at LSI’s AIS 2012 conference is the introduction of the LSI’s own Syncro architecture, which alongside LSI’s Nytro and MegaRAID products will make up LSI’s three major storage brands. Whereas products from the Nytro line focused on performance, Syncro’s main concern is to lower the cost of high availability. As such, the Syncro architecture is targeted at the entire range between the large datacenter market as well as the small business.
In order to achieve this goal, LSI is introducing two new products – Syncro CS and Syncro MX. While both serve different [...]
