AMD Unveils Radeon Pro WX9100 and Pro SSG for 4K and 8K Content Creators

AMD is showing some serious love for content creators at SIGGRAPH 2017 with two major new graphics cards, the Radeon Pro WX 9100 and the Radeon Pro SSG.

 

AMD Radeon Pro WX 9100

The AMD Radeon Pro WX9100 is the first Pro graphics card that was shown off. The card features 64 next generation compute units capable of delivering up to 12.3 TFLOPs of Single Precision FP32 compute performance. Included is also, 16GB of HBC (High Bandwidth Cache) memory with ECC delivering up to 484 GB/s of memory bandwidth. AMD Vega 10, Vega 11, Vega 12, and Vega 20 Confirmed by EEC

Some keen-eyed Redditors recently spotted AMD’s Vega 10, Vega 11, Vega 12 and Vega 20 on the Eurasian Economic Commission, or ECC’s, website, confirming the existence of of all the cards. The website also shared some SKU and model information as well.

AMD Vega Frontier Edition Graphics Card Unveiled

AMD unveiled its first purchasable Vega GPU during its Financial Analyst Day meeting. The AMD Vega Frontier Edition is aimed at professionals requiring heavy compute performance: data scientists, engineers, and product designers. This move is undoubtedly to steal some thunder from the newly announced Nvidia Tesla V100 graphics card and to gain market share in the machine learning and data science sector.

AMD to Power Alibaba Cloud with Radeon Pro Graphics

Slowly but surely, AMD is clawing their way back in both the CPU and GPU space, and the newest win for AMD comes from a recent announcement that Chinese internet giant Alibaba has signed on to utilize AMD Radeon graphics technology in their cloud datacenters.

AMD Announces New Tonga-Based FirePro S7150 and S1750 x2 GPUs

AMD have just announced their latest pair of server GPUs, the FirePro S7150 and the dual-GPU S1750 x2. Both of the new graphics cards feature AMD’s Tonga (Antigua)  GPU cores, which are also found in mainstream components such as the R9 285, R9 380 and R9 380X. The new cards represent AMD’s first fully hardware virtualized GPU components. AMD Preparing Big Announcement on September 25?

Over the past couple days, AMD India has been posting a series of cryptic tweets each with the hashtag #FutureIsAMD.
