Ophcrack problem on windows 8

Recommended Posts

I am trying to use Ophcrack to reset login password of my Windows 8 computer, which used to work well on Windows 7.  I followed the guide and at the last step, it keeps saying table no found. and some time got me a blue screen death. Anyone know how to fix this or suggest me an alternative to Ophcrack? thanks

If ophcrack not work for you, try other windows password recovery program.  offline NTFS password reset tool, or UUKeys windows password mate. The tool by itself can be found here;

http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

I have used this many times on XP, Vista and 7 and it's worked fine for me.  As with any tool like this there is always a risk so it couldn't hurt to backup (image the drive) first.

You can choose a user and blank out their password pretty easily.

For UUKeys windows password mate.

You need to prepare a USB or DVD to make a reset disk, it will format your USB data, so you'd better to back up your data first.

Hope my answer helps!  In fact, there are many other free windows password recovery tool like Kon.
