  1. Hello, this is my first time building a PC for myself and when I tried to boot it for the first time, no case fans were spinning and also the CPU fan was not spinning. I had taken each piece of the computer out and had tried to run a test with only the 24 pin, CPU pin, CPU, and CPU fan plugged but the CPU fan did not spin either. Upon further inspection, the red light indicating a problem with the CPU flashes red once and goes away. I have checked the CPU and CPU socket and have identified no bent pins and nothing in the socket of the CPU. Nothing seems to be damaged on the motherboard after inspecting it with other people. Any help is appreciated with this and thank you in advance. My specs for this computer are: Ryzen 5 1500X MSI B350 PC Mate Motherboard Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Corsair - Vengence 1x8 GB Western Digital Blue 1TB Hard Drive Asus GTX 1060 3GB Apevia X-Mirage EVGA 450W 80+ Bronze
  2. hi i'm building my first pc. i'm 80% sure that this build is compatible except for the g skill ram. on amazon(https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01MTDEYHU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) it says "Chipset: Intel Z270 Platform / Intel Z170 Platform CPU: Kaby Lake (LGA 1151) / Skylake (LGA 1151)" i have a z370 chipset motherboard. but when you go onto the g skill site it says that the ram is compatible with z370 motherboards. overall i don't have a clue about the ram. but if there are any of the other parts which don't go together please let me know and it would be nice if you suggest a replacement of similar performance and price. my list: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/jQYfYr any help is appreciated thanks! :)

  5. Hello, my name is Ben and for a long time i have wanted to build my own gaming PC. this year for Christmas, my father has given me a budget of 1200 euros/1500 dollars to build my own computer. I would like an intel i7 6700k and a gtx 1070 with a white NZXT S340 case. an ssd with 16gb ram would be nice too an overkill PSU would be appreciated. I won't be overclocking so i don't need liquid cooling. i need the parts shipped to Ireland. if you could help me out with sourcing these parts that would be awesome. thanks, Ben

Is there anyway I can shave some money off without changing the Video Card and Hard Drive? Ill also be having the Hard Drive arrive pre-formated, and have my local repair shop install Windows 7. Having it come with windows 7 is an extra ~$150. How did I do? If anything is off please let me know. I like my house and don't want it to burn down when I plug it in for the first time. Dont know if this matters, but I used ibuypower.com to build it. Recommended from a friend but if there is a better (cheaper) place to go Ill go there.
  9. So I will be building a new computer soon (just waiting for the rest of my parts to come in) and I would like to get some tips and safety advice for overclocking the computer below. The Build - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qKMWsYFrom the research I've done, it seems as though you just increase the voltage manually, get a stable clock speed with temperatures around 65-C, get a fixed voltage and set an offset voltage. Is that true? Is there anything else I should be concerned about when modifying any of these settings such as TuboBoost or SmartCache (if that is even an option?)Also I have no idea what I should set my offset voltage to. From what I hear, it means that it adds or subtracts to my default voltage when the CPU is under load... Is that true?Any response is taken into consideration. All of the info above is what I got from doing research on the subject. If you could list as many tips on stability that come to mind I'd be very grateful.
  10. I have been using Macs the last 13 years for editing and motion graphics. Recently Macs are becoming less and less upgradable and financially unviable and I want to switch to PC but have no idea where to start. It is like learning a whole new language, especially trying to "build" a work station. I am coming off using a Mac Pro (late 2013), My main programs of use are Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop. My secondary are Cinema 4D, Nuke and Moca. I have around $3.5K budget and am looking for: 32GB Ram 8-10 cores SSD for main drive I use 2 monitors (DP) I have heard good things about AMD FirePro W8100 but again this is all new to me. any help would be much appreciated.
