  1. I'd like to build a solid dual core xeon workstation for 3d graphics. The applications I would run on this would be graphic apps like Maya, Houdini and Nuke. I'm not interested going into a Quadro card solution. I choose 1080 cause it seems the most optimal compromise between cost and performance for CUDA power. I choose 2x 8 cores CPU cause the 16 cores counterpart seems to cost a lot more money. I would use Linux 99% of times, but it'll be a dual boot system (Linux + Win). Do you think this choice would make sense for my needs? Do you see anything wrong in this config?
