  1. Guys Maxkeyboard has a new model out! Max Keyboard Durandal G1NL Red Backlit Mechanical Keyboard Looks nice! I used my code that I won thanks to Sam and maxkeyboard is the last comp to order one :D So once I get it ill let you know my opinions of the keyboard and compare it to the X8
  2. I did the same mod, got them from wasd.com cost me under $25 shipped international with a key puller. You're right it does take a lot of time to do so i just do a few every now and then, gotta work out how to remove the bigger keys without damage and ill do those too. Went with the 40A black o rings, really nice feel, sound is much quieter but still can tell its a mechanical big time
  3. Would probably feel super guilty if i won this, but hard to resist a comp! Good luck everyone!
  4. Ahhh whooooo!! HELL YEAH! This is awesome! The only other thing I've ever won was a meat tray in a raffle ahahah this looks much tastier. Thank you so much Sam! :D
  5. Whoever said "lets put 5 40mm fans on the card" is an idiot, thats 5 fans that can stop working at any given time and the noise that thing would put off! Just slap two fans on it, three at most, make them bigger and there for turn slower creative less noise
  6. man these group buys are going nuts! Max keyboards should be thanking you left right and centre sam! Hit them up for a few freebies for yourself i say
  7. Well they couldnt get the 1000W silent pro and only could get the 1000W Gold so i just went with that instead, came in a really nice box ahah
  8. woah im number 2?! Im consufed did i win  Or is the winners chosen out of that list randomly? Never actually won anything ever :o (could be getting super excited for no reason ahaha)
  9. Ahh glad you got in with the group buy mark ;)
  10. Ordered all the parts tuesday, expecting to pick them up tomorrow (Friday 27th here) cant wait! Ended up going with the H100 for cooling put ordered some quiet 140mm fans to replace the 120mm, also went with a 1000W Gold PSU as they couldnt get the other one i was looking at, also some other misc things like Creative T40 II speakers, a creative headset for games and a Steel series QCK mouse pad. I will post some pics once i get it built!
  11. Yeah makes sense, thats the same reason why I'm leaning towards to 1000W I'm just concerned if Coolermaster is a decent brand and if i will be fine with it, or if i should get a 850W Gold PSU and call it a day? The whole thing about running at 50% load to get optimal efficiency is what concerns me, as the PSU calculators on the net I've used just give a min and a recommend PSU wattage not a system load wattage so not sure how to know if ill be using 500W or 425W etc. Im sure the cooler master will be fine for many years, why else would they give it a 5 yr warranty i just want to double check
  12. Great post Ebombzor, Im looking to build and this will be my first PC build in over 5 years (been over in the mac camp). It wil be used for Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Archicad, 3ds max, photoshop and gaming, Revit is VERY CPU intensive especially when rendering so I need a quick CPU I will also be overclocking it as fast as I can 24/7 while being stable and under reasonable volts. I'm concerned about the power supply especially since I will be overclocking will it be good enough/stable enough and future proof? Or should I go for a gold rated PSU of lower wattage? I think all my other choices are pretty good I have spent the better part of two weeks researching everything but there is only so much I can learn in the given time frame and I'm sure there is some very experienced users here that could give me some great advice so please do This is my list of components ATM. -ASUS P9X79 Pro Motherboard $335 (LGA 2011, Intel X79 chipset, 8 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR3 2400(OC), 3-Way SLI and Quad-GPU CrossFireX Support, 8CH HD Audio, SATA3, USB3.0) -Intel Core i7 3930K $599 Sandy Bridge-E 3.2GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 2011 130W Six-Core Desktop Processor BX80619I73930K -MSI GeForce GTX 570 Twin Frozr III Power Edition $355 (Waiting for the 660 or 670 or 660ti to come out and will upgrade) -G.Skill Ares F3-1866C9Q-16GAB 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 $135 -Intel 520 Series 120GB SSD $195 (2.5" SATA III 6Gb/s, 25nm, MLC, read/write speed 550/500MB/s, random writes up to 80,000 IOPS) -Seagate Barracuda 2TB ST2000DM001 $139 -Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 LGA2011 CPU Cooler $89 -CoolerMaster Silent Pro M2 1000W Power $189 -Corsair Carbide 500R Case - White $159 -LG CH12LS28 12X BD-R Blu-ray DVD Combo Drive $59 -BenQ XL2410T 23.6 Inch Widescreen LED Monitor 120Hz 2ms $249 each -Razer Mamba 4G Dual Laser Gaming Mouse $145 (already purchased yesterday) -Max Keyboard Nighthawk X8 Blue backlit Mechanical Keyboard $150
