Snapdragon 800 Confirmed for Mass Production Next Month

At a recent Qualcomm media event in Beijing, Senior Product Manager Yufei Wang confirmed that Qualcomm’s highly anticipated flagship mobile SoC, the Snapdragon 800, is set to roll out of factories en mass at the end of next month.

The Snapdragon 800 offers many improvements over its predecessor, the Snapdragon 600, which is currently Qualcomm’s flagship SoC used in some of the latest and greatest smartphones such as the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4. Whereas the Snapdragon 600 is using the Krait 300 architecture, the Snapdragon 800 is now sporting the new Krait 400 architecture, which contains a quad core ARMv7 based processor clocking up to a max speed of [...]

Patriot Supersonic Magnum 256GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Review

Go Big or Go Home

For most of us, personal data has been increasing at a rapid rate and while cloud services have popped up to help keep all that data synced, nothing really beats keeping a copy of your own data close at hand. With USB 3.0 and its higher bandwidth now becoming more and more mainstream, it’s now far easier to move all that data around.

A couple months ago, we did quite an extensive roundup of the top 64GB USB 3.0 flash drives on the market and while 64GB seems like a lot especially in comparison to what was available only a couple years ago, it’s quite paltry these days, when trying to back up video, pictures, or even a digital game [...]

AMD, Nvidia Revamps Gaming Bundles

Bundling games with graphics cards seems to be a popular marketing strategy for both Nvidia and AMD. With the release of a number of AAA titles on the horizon, both companies revamped their gaming bundles to include some awesome looking, soon-to-come games.

AMD has has a long history of bundling the hottest titles with their high performance cards. With the most recent refresh of their “Never Settle Reloaded” gaming bundle, they’ve added the Ubisoft’s newest FPS, Farcry 3: Blood Dragon, to the pack. Players who have already activated their coupon code will receive their key via email, while players with new coupons will [...]

AMD Releasing a 5GHz CPU?

Undoubtedly AMD’s been feeling a little like the underdog in the CPU arena as of late. While its FX line of processors provide plenty of processing power, they are slightly outmatched when compared to Intel’s Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge-E competition.

But as Winston Chrchhill said:”Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm”, and AMD seems to be doing just that. According to, there are rumors floating around that AMD is planning to release a higher clocked FX chip based on the same Vishera architecture used for the FX-8350. Code named Centurion, it will be made in very limited quantities and will be [...]

Logitech Ultimate Ears 6000 Headphone Review

Ultimate Ears for the Modern Age

When Logitech originally purchased Ultimate Ears back in 2008, one of the main concerns for consumers is that Logitech, being primarily a consumer focused company, would gradually turn the more enthusiast/audiophile oriented Ultimate Ears product line into more of a general consumer oriented product line, thus killing the Ultimate Ears reputation as a producer of high quality, high end audio equipment.

While in many ways the Ultimate Ears brand has definitely expanded from its original highly specialized audio equipment niche into the more general consumer market, I feel like Logitech has nevertheless done a great job with the Ultimate Ears [...]

Creative Sound Blaster ZxR PCIe Sound Card Review

Creative’s Z-Series Flagship

Back in 2011, Creative unveiled the Recon 3D series of soundcards based off their (at the time) new Sound Core 3D chipset, which were decent soundcards for gaming and general audio, but didn’t include any real audio processing hardware (DACs, ADCs, etc.) other than the Sound Core 3D chipset itself. While the Sound Core 3D chipset is definitely impressive especially with its audio processing ability and lower power consumption, the problem with this is that with proper headphones and speakers, the sound quality on the Recon 3D series soundcards couldn’t match older Sound Blaster X-Fi soundcards such as the Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium, [...]
