Razer recently announced pre-order availability of their new Razer Abyssus V2 gaming mouse which is an update to the popular Abyssus gaming mouse.
Designed for the entry level, the Razer Abyssus V2 now packs several new features over its predecessor including a new 5,000 DPI optical sensor, contoured grooves on the main mouse buttons for more control, dedicated button for cycling DPI settings, and rubberized side grips for better control during gameplay. As with most products in Razer’s lineup, Razer has also added backlighting, but since this is an entry level product, backlighting will only be limited to three colors rather than the full RGB [...]
For E3 2016, Razer took the wraps off their shiny new Naga Hex V2 MOBA gaming mouse which has a redesigned button layout, new aesthetics, and an updated sensor.
The biggest change to the Razer Naga Hex V2 is that it now has seven side buttons arranged in a ring rather than six from the original Naga Hex. At the center of the keys is a raised island with extra coarse thumb grip on top.
The shell also received an upgrade to the new matte black finish that graces most of Razer’s new peripherals lineup.
Each of the buttons is programmable by the user through the Razer Synapse software. For those who just want to jump into the game, three sets of [...]

Razer never lags behind in gaming aesthetics. With the recent launch of Blizzard’s Overwatch, Razer has applied the game’s signature black and yellow color scheme some of its most popular peripherals.
Razer and Overwatch fans would be glad to know that the Overwatch theme has been applied to the Blackwidow Chroma gaming keyboard, the DeathAdder gaming mouse, and the Goliath Extended gaming mousepad. Not only did the products receive a new paint job, Razer also paired them with a customized lighting effect through the Razer Chroma lighting engine.
Razer has also designed a new headset entirely around the new theme called the Razer ManO’War [...]
Gaming mice come in various price tiers and we are often too caught up in the bells and whistle featured on flagship models. It’s always nice to see companies return to the basics with entry level products that deliver the necessary fundamental features at an affordable price. However, designing an affordable gaming mouse brings with it an unique set of challenges as tradeoffs occur and manufacturers have to strike a balance between cost and performance. Keeping that in mind, let’s review the Cougar 250M gaming mouse.Manufacturer Cougar Gaming Model 250M Sensor ADNS-3050 Optical Sensor CPI Range 500/1000/1250/1750/2000/4000 [...]
While the gaming peripherals market is saturated with all the mice one could possibly want , we always welcome a good blend of price and performance. Introducing the SteelSeries Rival, a basic, bare-bone mice from SteelSeries that has a few nifty surprises under its hood.
There’re several interesting specs worth mentioning. Instead of using AVAGO sensors like many of today’s gaming mice, the Rival touts the Pixart PWM 3310 Optical sensor with max DPI of 6400. Since it uses the tried and true optical technology, in theory, it should have very little to no acceleration. The sensor isn’t the Rival’s only highlight; It also [...]
Razer, a leader in computer gaming peripherals, has just announced the updated version of the Razer Orochi ambidextrous wireless gaming mouse.
The Orochi 2015 features a completely new look. The shell has been overhauled to a more modern look with front grills and hex-patterned side grips added to the side. Razer has also implemented the Razer Chroma feature to the Orochi 2015 so gamers can choose between 16.8 million colours for the scroll wheel.
The Orochi 2015 has new internals as well. Razer has installed a new 8,200 DPI laser sensor, possibly the Avago ADNS 9800. The wireless radio has been updated to use Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, which [...]
A great gaming mouse is a linchpin component of any gamer’s peripheral arsenal and over the years manufacturers have been focused on appealing to all types of preferences. Unfortunately, throughout the process of expanding the product lineups, many features companies have marketed towards gamers have proven to be little more than flamboyant gimmick to drive up prices.
Cougar hopes to bring gaming mice to their roots with what they claim to be “a return to the essence of gaming” with the announcement of their 230M and 250M gaming mice.
The 230M and 250M share several design elements such as ambidextrous designs to accommodate for right [...]
E3 has always been a big show for gaming peripherals maker Razer and for 2015 Razer’s big product announcement is a new Mamba with some innovative technologies that Razer believes will make it the best gaming mouse in the world.
Although similar in shape to the outgoing Razer Mamba, the new Mamba has some drastic changes that will distinguish itself from its predecessor.
The most noticeable change right off the bat is the Chroma style RGB LEDs that wrap the sides of the mouse and the center scroll wheel. Razer has also carried over the materials used on new Razer mice including textured, matte black plastic and grippy rubber sides.
As technology has progressed over the years, we’ve seen a number of products that were once singular function devices that become more versatile and useful through development and innovation. Smartphones, smartbands, smartwatches, smart TV’s, smart appliances, etc. were all once not so smart but with the addition of processors, sensors, advanced software, etc. have come a long way in versatility and functionality since their original designs.
While all these products have seen a lot of innovation over the years, one product that hasn’t really changed much is the computer mouse. Sure, there are companies that have introduced onboard processors, LEDs, [...]

At CES 2014 earlier this year, Cherry Corporation and Corsair made a huge splash in the world of gaming peripherals by introducing the world’s first RGB LED backlit mechanical gaming keyboard. At the time it was quite revolutionary since prior to the introduction, mechanical keyboards only came with either one or sometimes two single color LEDs which just doesn’t give users much choice when it comes to color customization.
While Corsair and Cherry took the spotlight at the beginning of the year, it really didn’t take very long for competing companies to catch up, with Razer first introducing their first RGB backlit peripherals back in [...]
